Update on my prior comment about the Tough-1 Easy Breather. I got another one with V-strap added. I also added an additional orange strap with a latch to make easier to get on & off (& easier to see), plus strap helps as a backup to the velcro. I put Gorilla tape over the opening hole & only give him a dime sized opening. He can drink with it on. No rubs (need to get a proper fit). It fits face without rubbing & has great opening for nostrils for our heat. So far has not removed again, though he tries. Has held up so far. Guess 3 to 4 years based on time of my prior comment. -- I do have a Greenguard, but let's him eat too much grass. He is super sensitive. I haven't tested it out enough on how holds up, as realized quickly he got too much to eat thru it.

Thanks for the info! I actually got the easy breather for my mini horse last year, when he was recovering from strangles and I only had access to a stall and SUPER lush grass!

Bought this for a minature donkey. For him, the gaps are too far apart, and he gained weight with it on! So, now trying the Thinline.

Oh no! That’s a bummer! Wonder if they will come out with more mini-friendly options in the future. Love the design! Come back and let me know about the Thinline!!

I need reviews on grazing muzzles, so thanks! -- I had that Easy Breather one & my guy kept removing it. Finally he rubbed it and basically tore it up. Found it hanging off his head. Sigh! I need a grazing muzzle that my guy can't remove. We live in hot temperature, so need an airy one. Mine never left his on long enough to get rubs. He would not let me see how he got it off, but when I'd go inside for awhile then come back out and he had it off again. I added more things to hold it on, etc. and that's when he just broke it. Sigh! I am thinking that may have too many holes and let mine eat too much grass, but may give it a try.

Yeah, in a hot and humid climate, you really need one with proper ventilation! Let me know how it goes if you get one!

Thanks for making a great muzzle. It's one of the horse products I'm MOST confident about recommending, because, it's the real deal. Feel free to share an excerpt on your Instagram, just give me a shoutout! @ginnymc1 on Insta!

Thank you, Ginny! Will do! Our president became the North American distributor after having a similar experience, trying every other muzzle with her beloved horse! We genuinely believe in it, too, and know that it can make a difference in a horse's life!

I'm assuming you take this muzzle off when feeding hay?
@Ginnyshorseproductreview6 жыл бұрын
I have only used the muzzle when my horse was turned out in really lush grass pasture. During those times, they didn't get hay. I think leaving it on when feeding hay would depend on a bunch of factors. Is the horse stabled with others that share the hay? Like, will other horses that don't have muzzles on gobble up all the hay first? Also, can the horse adequately pull hay through the muzzle. I would watch for a little while to make sure he or she could eat. If you're only concerned about hay, a slow-feed net or slow feeder would probably be more practical than a muzzle. Muzzles are really designed for limiting grass intake.

I dont, my horse stil eats hay fine through it. I have to tape off most of the holes so there's only 2 left as she still eats too much

What size did you get for your Arabian?
@Ginnyshorseproductreview3 жыл бұрын
I bought it about 5-6 years ago now, but I’m pretty sure it was their “pony” size, based on her bit size.

I just purchased one and I found a few reviews about the negative effects this has on horses teeth.... I’m really concerned now.
@Ginnyshorseproductreview5 жыл бұрын
I have not heard anything negative regarding muzzles or slow feed nets during my horse's dentals (and I know a lot of people are anti-net for dental reasons). I would check with your vet and keep an eye on your horse's teeth if you're concerned. Muzzles can be life-saving for horses that need restricted diets, so I would definitely try to make sure you have one that's well fitted and works for your horse. Best wishes!
