@@thejackster10100 Yeah its amazing what a thin piece of 3D printed plastic can do...I dont fancy the other method of lubing it up regluarly with WD-40 that cant be very kind on the metalwork and a bit sloppy 😂....just bear in mind with the Damper/Dampener whatever...to start with the thinnest one first...0.4 is probably enough if its a new scoot, but if roblem is worse might need 0.6, very unliekly you will ever need higher than that. If you cant close the latch it just unscrew the central forward facing bolt very slightly until the latch can close with the damper in for a nice tight lock. You will be so surprised...cant live without it, that creaking noise is the worst! Sound like a 10 year old beat scooter not new lol.

SlammDunk Productions received and fitted it today. Made such a huge difference, I’m very very pleased with it. Did quite a long journey just now and my legs/knees feel much better after riding. For anybody else looking to purchase one; 1) you NEED tools. You will not get the bolt of the front wheels unless you are Thanos. 2) remember how the bearing came off the steering column. 3) the smallest Alan key for the screws behind the plastic cover/stickers is rubbish. When screwing it back into the suspension kit, you’ll need a screwdriver with that but to get it flush. 4) Be careful when removing the reflective stickers as you’ll be putting them back on. 5) the blue spring is probably better, I could squeeze the yellow spring with my hand slightly. 6) again, be prepared to take some time figuring those front wheel bolts out. That probably took up most of my time (the whole process took me 3/4 hours, I have some DIY experience. I would imagine it would take much longer for something with very little experience). Thanks again for the video, wouldn’t have bought it without the help of the video to be honest. The manufacturers should sponsor you 😂

Only by memory I can say that I rode a good 50+ miles after fitting this and I deffo didn't have the issues you describe and in all honesty I wouldn't even know what to suggest other that starting from scratch because it just sounds like something was out back together right. Sorry I wish I was more useful.
@randombitsofreality3 жыл бұрын
@@SlammDunkProductions I appreciate it! I suspect I tightened last (in stead of first) the bolt that goes in the middle of the stem, and it didn't pull the fork up, so the bearings rattle. Well check it out later and see if this is the problem!
@randombitsofreality3 жыл бұрын
As a follow up, after tightening the stem bolt first, so it pulls up the fork and tightenes the space around the bearings, the clack and movement in the stem is gone. Now I realized the stem is slightly turned to the left - I thought the way it's designed that can't happen, but I guess I have to correct for that as well. Anyway, thank you again!

I actually gave this scooter away before Monorim released the first version of the REAR suspension, so i never got chance to try that. If i had to rate how effective the front suspension is out of 10, id probably say 6/10. At the time id still say it was the best suspension kit you could buy for xioami's. I really liked it because of the look more than how useful it was, i probably would have bought the rear suspension for the same reason.....The things is, once you start buy front/rear suspension kits you realize you were probabl;y better off just buying a better scooter that actually comes with suspension as standard. Dont know if this is much help to you mate, but i appreciate the feedback. good luck 🙏

@@derrickmoses I am really sorry Dee. Hoping someone will see your comment and be able to help because im not really a technician by any means. I’m not going to to jumps or anything on it cos I’m getting a bit old for that and got it cos i cant walk long distance so the suspension would help with my back issues. Just not sure which spring to install for myself.
@SlammDunkProductions3 жыл бұрын
If i remember correctly it was the reviews i had read previous to buying the kit. I had read a couple others say that the heavy duty spring was much better for adults. That the yellow spring was too soft and to save yourself time and effort by just using the Blue spring from the start. Maybe im too trusting of others but i followed the advice and i dont have any regrets. I never actually rode with the yellow spring at all but it made sense to me to just use the more heavy duty to begin with. Just like you i have no intentions to do jump or bounces so i dont want the springyness, but there may be little difference for a guy like me who only weighs 11 stone?

yeah i had a little foam piece if forgot to put on my Fender..i just used the metal piece and washer only i think..Well done for noticing. you have a good eye 😂.....Not sure about the wobble though or why you have that? hmm....The trickiest part for me was the underneath, where the Bottom ball bearings fit into the under section of stem. You really gotta make sure its all pushed in snug and ithgt at the bottom before you close of the suspension at the top. (i feel like im not explaining this well sorry)....but yeah i had to try multiple times before everything felt how it should without any looseness. One you fold the top part of suspension brackets onto the pole it should feel good before you start to tighten up and add the stem back on. not really sure if im helping here sorry mate ✌

SlammDunk Productions haha not really i just browse around, i’ve got the m365 pro and it’s good for what i need it to do, i’d prefer something with good suspension and a bit more range. the l9 looks good, although i’m not sure whether to get it or not, it’s pretty new so there’s not many reviews. one kind of negative i’ve seen is that when the battery overheats, it just shuts off (better than it completely dying, but)

Does the suspension upgrade affect the display on the dashboard? I’ve been reading stuff about this and changing into 10” tires might require a firmware mod to properly display the new speed and distance. Hopefully it doesn’t since I want to do this to my xiaomi pro 2 without modding the firmware haha

The suspension doesn't effect display readings.... I can imagine 10" probably would, had never even thought about that before now. I've never upgraded wheel sizes on an e Scooter. 🙂

If the scooter reads speed anyway like a car does larger wheels will cause a false reading on the speedometer.

Honestly once i gave it a little spray with wd40, that clamp spanner worked a treat. I dont see any harm in using a hairdryer to warm the bolt first, might be worth a shot! thankfully was only 1 bolt not 2.
