now that I've had them for a few months, and got to really test them , they have become my favourite tyre, I've used them in perfect weather, , hot ,damp , gravel, cold even torrential rain. n I can't say enough good things about them

Silica is used as a hydrophobic element, so it displaces water between the tire and road surface and allows the tire to get in contact with the road when wet. Silica doesn't enhance dry grip, it actually would decrease it (slicks don't have silica).

I had this dunlop mutant on my z 900 naked last winter All summer and again this winter almost 10oookm and i love them … i ride Hi way 2ookm/u Dry Hi speed corners in rain , sand and mud in the street you c even do a normal track days with this tyre ….👍

yeh im digging them too man!.. I went for a twisty ride up the mountains for the first time on them last week , let down the psi to 36 front n rear and felt super planted. on a nice warm sunny day. some roadworks had us going on dirt for about 1km, and to my pleasure also very stable on dirt/gravel which I don't normally do but nice to have for those occasions.

I find the idea of selecting a tire primarily based on appearance to be fascinating. Looking good is certainly a bonus, but maximum performance(whatever that may be to the individual rider's needs/use) for the money available is my only true criteria. If it doesn't work extremely well for my needs(SPORT- touring grip,rain grip and mileage) nothing abut their appearance(or price) can make up for poor performance...I can't think of anything on a bike that is more function based than tires,so am glad to hear that you have since found the performance to be very good. absolutely, I bought them as I liked what they looked like, and agree this should never be done. and if I didnt like how they handled I would've changed them, I blessed that I can afford to do that. I did keep them and will continue to use the same tyre when they are up for renewal, Dunlop make exceptional tyres and the dual compound and fast warm up time nature on these ones they couldn't be bad anyway for what I want if for, which is commuting and weekend mountain rides, I've tested them in the wet, warm, dusty , gravel, hot, and very cold too. and just as they stated before releasing them the truly are an all weather tyre. I have them ow on a yamaha mt-10.

I think the rationale, or lack there of as some may think, is that all tires within the same category perform amazing, and most crashes are due to rider error, so at the end of the day it comes down to brand loyalty, advertising effectiveness, and appearance. What does your tire say about you? I mean even performance wise, different outlets will give you different results; is there really an objective “best” performing tire? If so, which one?! I want that one!

I want to put this on my triumph street triple. My front tire needs replacing. I was going to wait a couple months on the rear tire because the tread looks fine. Currently have the stock Pirelli tires that I don’t care for. I feel some slip once in a while but the tread is low on the front tire. If it ride conservative, will having mismatched tires cause too many issues? Good video. The bank you.
