Congratulations on your 3rd place win, that is so cool. And I like the plum-colored shot jacket, it really suits you. The extra stuff at the end of the video was real funny and I enjoyed it. I have a question...You said you went "double clear" on the cross country course...Now, I'll admit I don't know a whole lot about cross country, but how can you go double clear? Don't you just ride the course one time? And there's no jump-off since it's a timed event and there's no poles to knock down for faults. To my horse show knowledge, a double clear is jumping the course twice, like there was a jump-off.
@JETEquiTheory7 жыл бұрын
thank you! double clear is running without time penalties or jump penalties

I love how generous you are (especially for an eventer) ❤️ there are so many cruel eventers who never take their horse into consideration! I ride bitless and I'm into all of the natural stuff but I think you are EXTREMELY generous for someone who was raised as an eventer and you have a very open mind 😍 keep up the good work!
@JETEquiTheory7 жыл бұрын
thank you! and I actually find other disciplines tend to have more abusive riders than eventing! not all riders in any given discipline are all the same or all use the same methods! I appreciate your comment instead of the usual bitless believer hate I get on my page! I have tried bitless, hackamores, and even English bosals, and zo just goes most quiet and comfortably in a soft bit, I don't have to pull hard or do anything aggressive to ask something of her, some just don't get that so I really appreciate you!

@jeorjina7 жыл бұрын
Poultice (a natural clay paste) helps draw out heat from over/hard-worked muscles. Certain poultices can also be used for inflamation, absesses, windpuffs, etc)
@charlottewhitmarsh46057 жыл бұрын
Hi Jill, love the vlog and massive well done at dunnabeck. I was just wandering about using clay on legs, I bought some earlier this year to use after XC like you, but I only used it couple of times as both times after a couple of hours I would find his legs really really hot. I then put this on a forum online and found that a lot of people had found the same. I put a thick layer all down his legs, then a damp pice of grease proof paper and wrap them like recommended. Have you found/ overcome this? What made you choose clay over other options?? Xx
@toriwallace96227 жыл бұрын
charlotte whitmarsh You mean the poultice she uses?
@charlottewhitmarsh46057 жыл бұрын
Yes, sorry I've never heard it called that, we just call it clay, as I think the "poultice" contains clay x
@toriwallace96227 жыл бұрын
charlotte whitmarsh It's fine, I just wasn't sure if we were talking about the same thing. Lol
@JETEquiTheory7 жыл бұрын
yes I believe its the same thing and I've never heard that! I use the ice tight brand, and I find that poultices also have liniment in them which is a heating agent if I'm not mistaken. maybe thats it? I've never noticed her legs overheating and I use it frequently at home as well. maybe talk to your vet and ask why or try a different brand
@jeorjina7 жыл бұрын
clay and poultice are the same thing (the main component of poultice is natural clay). Poultice can heat or help cool depending on application and ingredients. If your horse is cold, apply a warm poultice (and bandage), if they're hot, apply cold poultice. If you find your horse gets hot, cold hose first, before poulticing, and use a poultice that containes menthol or a cooling ingredient.
