Some really great nuggets in this video. You’re very good at cutting through the fat and getting to the key points. I recommend to film, and take notes of problems or things you want to show in the review when it happens or shortly after, and film footage when you can when it suits you, over time. then use the best footage you got. I haven't done a review in video form yet. so far I've only done written reviews, used video, pictures to make my point. but I am not fluent in English yet, but I'm practising. I don't have many talking videos, but I am sure I will have more.

Absolutely! That method can work!

when using phone to film without a gimbal, use careful walking, use your knees as suspension or a stabilizer if you like, same with hands, hold phone securely, with two hands, walk carefully, move arms, hands to get the shot, you don't always need a slider, a stabilizer, gimbal, a film crew.

an issue I have is trying to review something in a language that is not my native language which i don't usually speak in, and do several pages worth of text into a video. it's huge task, I don't even know how long it would take to make. So it's understandable why bike magazines don't do super in-depth videos of every single component they review, it would simply be too much work I think. of course it depends on the product, and how much you have to say. if it's an particularly bad product with many disadvantages and issues, showing all of that for example will make the review much longer, for example an bicycle with horrible component choice, this and that failed, this and that issue, but some stuff is easier to talk or show. but I know in some cases it's possible to do very short yet informative video, it depends. So for me it's too big of a task right now I think, but some people have suggested to make some reviews, comparisons.
@dunnadidit4 жыл бұрын
I totally hear you! That was why I mentioned that once you have tested and made notes, to prioritize your findings. Sometimes, you just can’t fit it all in and still have a concise and entertaining video. It’s a bit of a trade off

@dunnadidit4 жыл бұрын
Hey! The biggest thing to start with is being locked down to a single shutter speed. Generally, people suggest sticking with a 180° shutter rule so your shutter will be twice your frame rate. (24fps = 1/48 or 1/50 stutter) that means you’re left to adjust your exposure with only two things instead of 3. ND filters will become your best friend lol

Haha yeah, making videos in general can be a headache like that. But the more you do it... the less you run into those little snags. I can get ONLY exactly the shots I need that way. No wasted time on extra shots and never too few either.
