You guys were pretty much spot on with your analysis of the first touch 👏… It’s one of the hardest skillset in football even though some of the clips looked easy

The casual fan might not appreciate the first touch at its true value. To picture in real life think of a as object coming at you with high speed and force. To stop the object, you might apply an equal force. To that add that the object is spheric which completely change the equation, and your speed, the perfect leg positioning in order to prevent the ball from going far away from you because the defender is coming at you while you are computing and applying all this data at the same time. If you want to feel for yourself, kick a ball against the wall and try to control while the ball rebound toward you. (that is a very simplify version of what the pro do)

Control is the main word I would say, not the action tho, but the meaning. Yes you can first Touch shoot to goal, but when you do it, you are in full Control mode ❤

It is still control wether you pass it or shoot it, its still require control coz you can shoot it but without proper control of your shot the ball will go anywhere.

Having a good first touch means “don’t let the ball bounce too far away from you after a hard pass”…having a Great first touch means “putting the ball in a position where you find yourself a step ahead the defender”…it requires great technique and talent in order to control the ball off your foot like the pros do

In Brazil we call the first touch “ matar a bola”, literally “to kill the ball”, referring to how you can pretty much stop the ball completely with your first touch…it does require A LOT of skill

I think the easiest way for you to understand this is to try by yourself. The longer and higher the ball flies the more it will bounce. But first touch is not only control it to receive pass, but also ability to redirect it precisely to pass, assist or even score.

What's good family ! First touch separates every level of elite aka THE most important touch. There's the aspect of control, taking the speed from the ball and just dead the ball. Then there's an oriented first touch, you control the ball into space while simultaneously scanning all movement around you. Lastly, first touch is the last thing to go from a Futbol player. It's extremely difficult to control an aerial ball(not passed along the grass) that's coming at you with pace- either directly or from above, and to do it like these guys can- at the highest level and intensity, with instantaneous control, ready for the next move - or setting up the next move, is just exciting and magical.

This is HARD the ball has so much energy the first touch is absorbing the ball’s energy in controllable way to avoid bouncing very far It is really hard in general to bring any object with so much kinetic energy to a stop with one touch The professional level balls are stiff and bouncy i promise you will be shocked if you see how fast the ball travels in most of these clips

Fam definitely take a soccer ball go kick it pass it around time to time!! Find some ppl playing at the park & join em play have fun start learning few techniques.. u will appreciate everything sooo much moreeeee!!!! Insane as some one who grew up playing soccer all my life training & grew up in the west playing basketball & decently being good at other sports & being on different sports teams… soccer & ice hockey are 2 sports I think are above all levels of sports technicality! Soccer been my main but with my very humble opinion comparing high level of each sport college level youth level Only ice not any other honey ONLY ICE HOCKEY COME TO SOCCER in skill technicality, next level balance while skills tricks, corntrol, shot, volleys, power shot, test stamina, cardio, tackles, goalkeeper importance over all everything needed same level over Basketball American football ( only reason because of long breaks they get & different attack defence kicking team) ,field hockey hand ball cricket all Only reason I say ice hockey only sport same level difficulty of creativity & performance is cuz hockey do all that & allow hard tackles, despite having different strings like American football. Reason I put soccer up there is because if soccer wasnt tough on calling fouls almost every game few pelayers would break their legs & ppl & kids would be not able to play or walk for life! Still so many injuries still happen pro level college youth & pick up so that’s why I rank it equal with hockey. & soccer touches I rack slightly above hockey stick difficulty… so close with soccer foot control because stick control on ice skates If u read this far hope u go out play sometime! I myself suffering from a bad knee injury last 3 years! Haven’t been able to play… finally slowly playing kicking around once or twice a month & be able to run a hit without too much pain! Appreciate ur reactions hope you guys go out & kick a ball about sometime! ⚽️ you will appreciate this soooo much more it’s mindblowing! Blows my mind with some these touches
