I remember one derby game at home against Manchester United and literally every corner of the Stadium had a fight in it. After the game it was chaos and I know a United fan that got chased over a few miles in foot. Tbh even before the game the atmosphere was electric and everybody was waiting for United's Coach to come in. It kicked off after one of their players gestured our fans.

The Ultra thing is tied up in rebellion against strict governments(sometimes unfair) and the Football clubs are mostly 100+ years old so they are woven into the communities, , blend that with gang culture , and your bro said it about Braveheart, there is a huge part of that primal aspect in there. There are some bad people involved with this stuff but also some good people, and many football clubs fans are targeted by officials(police and sport) in many countries because they are community hubs (in the more brutal regimes) and also because they blend with organised crime. It really has a street gang vibe to it but its much bigger, like Bloods and Crips

A big reason for the difference in passion between places like Europe, Eastern Europe, the Mediterranean etc is a lot of these teams represent town and cities that are hundreds if not thousands of years old. So they could be playing against teams from a place they’ve had a local rivalry or hatred against for hundreds of years. It becomes more than just the game, it’s everything about where your from against everything about where they are from. It’s all very tribal

If hooligans aren't fans I wonder why they've got tattoos of the club and always are where the club plays. Ultras are wannabee hoolies but are to scared, cowardly and/or weak to actual fight for their club, but do have the balls to stir up the atmosphere and challenge the police and when things get tough and rough have the audacity to f-ing run away... Perhaps that's the reason your country nowadays lacks any real hooligans; all the nationalism, pride and bravery has been 'beaten' out of Germans throughout the last 7 decades.

The fact that we had lots of problems with hooligans in the 80s, 90s, and 00s also seems weird considering the 7 decades you mentioned.

Away fans between two rivals are accepted in general, but it's always really high security. Basically, the visiting fans have their own section of the stadium so they never get into fights with the home fans. But there are some exceptions. Football clubs are supposed to allow space in stadiums for traveling fans, even here in the United States. Obviously football in the U.S. is on a way smaller level but Major League Soccer requires all teams to sell a minimum of 100 tickets for the fans of the traveling team. There was 135-150 of us in Fort Lauderdale this weekend to watch NYCFC play Inter-Miami (I made a day trip out of it. Landed in Fort Lauderdale by plane at 11:30 AM, was back in New York by 11:30 PM that same night). Edit: however the rules for flares and smoke grenades are similar to Europe, basically it's not allowed. However since it's smaller in numbers, when we use em, it's easier to be caught, possible arrested and banned from going to games for it. Home fans tend to be allowed to use smoke grenades in one part of the stadium here in the U.S. but that depends on the team. My team (NYCFC) cause we play at Yankee Stadium (yes the baseball stadium) do not allow any type of pyrotechnics, smoke grenades included. Many people have been banned in the teams short history for using them in Yankee Stadium. Fun fact. Only been following NYCFC since 2018, club I grew up supporting was Junior Fútbol Club (they play in Colombia, my father's hometown club).

it depends where, in France, and also Germany to a lesser extent, we have only one big club per city, except Paris which now has a second team in Ligue 2 since 2 or 3 years ago, on the other hand, a lot of smaller sized cities have a club, some clubs even have a stadium that is bigger than the city (Lens, Guingamp). That's mainly because France is a big country andd belonging to a club is mainly for geographic reasons, whereas in eastern Europe you also belong to a club because of politics etc (often, one club is right wing, the other is left wing, or different reasons)

To put it short , this goes on , on and off the pitch , every city has a team , each team has 2-3 if not more firms of ultras , firm is like a "gang" to put it lightly , during off season and even daily firms fight each other outside the stadium for power , money , and different "activities" that benefit your firm if you're the top firm of a certain club but , on match day we unite , we put aside our shit that goes on outside the stadium and we come together against the opposing team , it's a "controlled" chaos for most part , each firm has a firm leader , that firm leader has pulls and connections with most of the rival firm leaders and stay in contact to make sure everything goes well , there are certain rules if a fight breaks out even outside the stadium at random , you never kick someone who's down and you never use weapons , with some exceptions but no fire arms . Most ultras do not become ultras over night , it's been running down in the family from father to son for generations and what is even better is that these rival firms come together whenever there is a match against a team from another country , that is the ultimate exception where we all come together and unite against a rival country , you've got to understand that most of these rivalries are based on history , wars and oppression , one of the most feared and most renowned firms are from greece ,atleast in the eastern part of europe , mainly because of the rich greek history . There is more to it but yea , that's the basics of it mainly , loved your bro's reaction though , much love from the most eastern latin country in europe . Stay safe out there

Police at football: There is no national guard in Europe. Instead there is a gendarmerie. In some countries it is police officers who are trained like the military, in other countries it is the military police who belong to the Ministry of Interior as a second, independent army and not to the Ministry of Defense. They don't shoot live ammunition, but they don't show any consideration either. It's the state tear gas thugs and they are correspondingly hated. In the upper leagues they can guarantee security, but the hooligans then move to the lower leagues. Europe is still a continent of war. But the streets are safer than in the USA because the violence is ritualized.

Normally in a stand you have a major group wich incorporates all other smaller subgroups of ultras\hooligans\casuals etc. All do coreographies together, chants and things related to the game itself. outside the stadium is where they differ the most from one another. Tipically Casual\Hooligan groups go to away games alone and without police escort so they can find home groups and fight each other, this firms are more about the honour and "stand your ground" mentality, they want to defend their colours and city. Ultras on the other hand organize big numbers of fans in buses or trains to travel to the away game (mostly they go with police escort, but some smaller more hardcore ultras choose to travel alone aswell). They are the ones o ocupy their free time to paint flags, banners and tifo's, they create the chants and are allways with the team no matter the result of a game. Both set of groups support their team with all forces, but demand good results from the team, if the team is not performing well in the league ultras and hooligans will act, and sometimes things can get violent. This set of fans are the last romantics in Europe, and try to maintain an ancient way of life, tribalism.

So,it's PURE chaos! If you survive, you'll get a great story for your grandchildren... I almost lost my head by accident (I was a security amongst the most aggressive hooligans, because I know martial arts, but when you get a gun pulled out on you and I was saved only by divine intervention) so yeah,it's absolute madness & chaos. Good reaction tho! 😊👍

us English invented football that's why we are passionate about it and then it went over the rest of Europe, some of our famous historical figures didn't like football like Shakespeare didn't like it or Richard the third so you can see how long it's been going on for in England. No offence but you don't play football in America ìts more like fancy rugby, we brought our sports over to America when we first came over in the 16 hundreds, baseball as you call it is a English school girls PE game called rounders , same as netball you call it basketball they are all our sports.

You know, Ultras are like a cake made by 99% of chocolate and the last 1% made of sh*t. That 1% ruins the entire cake. Being Ultras means doing chants, doing everything for your club, jump all the time in the stadium etc., nothing that's violent. But some people, unfortunately, use violence against the other Ultras and Police.. and sometimes the fights between them end with innocent people died or injured. I live in Italy and in the past years a lot of people lost their lives because of the fights. The Italian government "tried" to stop this "Ultras' Violence" by using Police, laws and violence too. But the Italian government and the Italian police it's like the "center" of corruption..! 'Couse you know, lives don't matters, money do. Obviously the corruption was made by Italian Mafia, Fascist Groups and Football Clubs too. Sorry if I've made some mistakes but, as you can imagine, English is not my first language. Peace ✌️

I agree with you but when you have something like a derby between two teams with ultras, there is such a big amount of passion, emotion and hate that there will be violence at times. When people die, or when regular people who don't want to fight are unwillingly brought into it, it has definitely gone too far. The big problem is those very few individuals who go there with the intention to fight, those people are not ultras they're just idiots. The police is also a big problem which is often brushed to the side. The police are very provocative at some games which is something the general public doesn't seem to understand because of the media, who paint a picture of supporters as if they're violent animals. In recent years it seems as if the police snitch less that gangs tbh. I realize that my comment might be misunderstood and I therefore want to make it very clear that I'm against violence. Also I'm from Sweden which is why my English might be a bit wonky

Might be weird for you to hear that many people in Europe were slaves one to another at some point in history. Serbia was under slavery for over 400 years under the Ottoman empire, even though it abolished slavery under Emperor Dushan Silni in 12th century.

@@dunsonhouse It is a very sad, and gruesome history. In the Balkans, especially Serbian children were taken to become Janissaries - grown in the Ottoman empire, away from their homes and families, forbidden to speak Serbian, so that they can become warriors in the service of SUltan. In a twisted joke, they were usually sent back to their villages to kill off their families. Serbs are tall, and muscular. Lots of Basketball players. Top Waterpolo players. Very good in Sports in general. The concept of Freedom and patriotism is deeply rooted in the Serbian Language, epic poetry, and the protection of everyone's rights. And this spans to early Serbian empire. People had rights when half of the Europe still didn't know what was a fork & knife. Can you just take some time to imagine that for a moment? Serbs suffered a lot throughout the history, and got no open recognition for basically stopping the Ottoman empire's advancement towards the Europe. No "Thanks". The churches around the world ring in the morning because of the victory taken at the Siege of Belgrade in 1456. Belgrade was razed and rebuilt over 40 times in the history. After the Ottomans were there, Austro-Hungarians wanted to eradicate Slavic folk, and threatened with "Iron baths" with cannons. All Serbs wanted was freedom and unification of the Slavic folk. Ability to learn, go to schools, have their language which was forbidden during the slavery. One superpower after another, they all wanted their turn in destroying Serbia. In WW1 we took first ever Allied victory at the battle of Cer. However, when Germans came, we lost 1/3 of the population since then the Austro-Hungarians committed a horrendous genocide in the region of Vojvodina. Germans have stated that they never, ever, saw anyone fighting the way Serbs do. Too many civilians were killed, hanged, thrown in the wells. Then came the WW2, and we had to divert Hitler from advancing on Russia. We were bombarded by Nazis(Axis) and Allies alike. Brits were not targeting the German posts, they were targeting our factories, and food supplies. We've paid a dear price for keeping the peace, were always mutilated and got almost universally hated thanks to the US media & politics of the rich warmongers who wanted to make brothers to fight between each other. In 1999 when NATO aggression took its toil, Serbs would go out on the streets with "Target" T-shirts out of spite. The black fist, a symbol of "Resistance" comes from Serbia. One injustice after another. Football is a chance for us to let go of some steam, to keep the tension somewhat sorted. For a lot of Serbian people, many of these wounds are still fresh, even hundreds of years after the events. They are deeply rooted in our culture, and they shape who we are today. So when we celebrate our club, we don't just celebrate our people, we celebrate our freedom, victory, life, and so forth. That is why there is so much passion. And that is why you can't find that in places where people don't even know what was the name of their grandpa, let alone some distant relatives.

Many europeans grew up with the aftermath of ww2. I know where I grew up it was very much present in every day live. Still today it is felt by many, including the younger generation. Freedom is not anything to take for granted, it's something worth fighting for. Right now even in todays time, there's a growing feeling of being surpressed all over the world. I hope we can be strong to overcome this currant battle

We will still defend our castle Like the antiquity, we decided to fight with our champions in arenas. Football, basketball, volleyball, hokey, water-polo (you can see them here) all the same supporters, all the same ultras.

Streetmasks are there for a multitude of reasons, mostly to stay incognito. Ultras often do choreographies involving pyrotechnics, bringing them into the stadium is illegal, and with modern technology and cameras around the pitch you'd get identified easily, so the skimasks prevent that. Also ultras and hooligans are 2 different things. Ultras are hardcore football fans, they're the ones planning the choreographies and such, hooligans are often only out to fight. There's overlap between these groups too but they're not technically the same.

Our team is our tribe!....but to hit on you’re slavery comment, not only black people have been slaves. Before transatlantic slave trade you had Barbary slave trade to where African nations travelled to Europe to kidnap european slaves, hence why the word “slave” originated from Slavic peoples whom were kidnapped. Not condoning any form of slavery but just correcting you on you’re comment about “being born in this skin, to understand it”. We have all been slaves, some would argue depending on what class you are there is still a form of slavery but the only difference is the mentality of different cultures coming out of slavery.

Kidd Dunson TV - In reality the great struggle of European football fans against corpo owners of clubs , where matches been sold and fans lied. Unlike in USA where sport is still sport and best win. All I'm saying is , that only hooligans shown true lies of club owners , who just making money on long sold matches in bets.

Usually the AWAY team will get 10% of the tickets n as they get into the rival city there marched to the Ground under police escort, but the hard-core firms will try n arrange meets were nl police are about n will go at it, In Europe its very political in The U.K. it is ,you mentioned coloured supporters in England firms are full of different ethnic groups and its all about the club or City , but compared to what happens outside the Ground this is probably tame each club will hunt each other down in The U.K. it was absolutely terrible in the 70s n 80s and especially when English Clubs are the National Team played in Europe and for awhile were banned from being involved in European Trophies, after 90 or so Italian fans were killed after disturbance at that end..it was called the English Disease but because of all seater stadium and Police being on the ball n close circuit TV n special police tactical groups constantly being there n filming them as soon as they enter a rival clubs Town or city it's more or less died out now, compared to be what it used to be like.

The home supporters might try and fightthe visitors, and sometimes they do, but they visitors still come to support their team, even on away games ... They travel thousands of miles for their team ...thousands of people sometimes .. the video starts with the guy getting to a different city and going throug all the opposing team graffiti before getting to the stadium ..

@@dunsonhouse sometimes it's hard to avoid it. The police at the last blackpool v Preston game we won 2-0 against Preston the police q Where meant to keep the fans separate different paths too and from the game but the police didn't coordinate properly so they brought the fans out along their respective roads but where they ended both set of fan's escorts was the road entrance opposite each other so the two fans piled into each other cos the police messed up lol

Yeah, more often than not rival fans are barred from entry, or they get an isolated part of the stand away from home ultras. Away games are no joke. Within the same country, let alone UEFA games. Reasons for conflict usually range from those of political, religious, nationalist nature to straightforward "you re in my town now" reasons.
