I find it very interesting how music is something that becomes ingrained in a person if they're taught it properly at a younger age. I was taught some music when I was younger, and found that I had a lot of those inherent understandings coming back to music when I was older, including a sense of rhythm and pulse. It's intruiging watching videos of people play this who didn't have any sort of musical training and struggle with what is musically pretty simple rythms.

What I love the most about this series is the way the music is written specifically for the cues. If you listen to the music in isolation it accommodates the cues to the point where you can tap along. Seeing the perspective of a teacher is interesting because the GBA game was meant to be more of a teaching tool with its minigames. The newer games still have some of that, and the series overall does a great job of introducing more advanced concepts in music theory (swing, compound time, polymeters, and whatnot).

It's really cool seeing a music teacher's perspective on this! I first got this game when I was about 11 or so, and I really felt as though it helped me improve my sense of rhythm, especially in regards to things like triplets and syncopation. I think me discovering this game coincided nicely with me learning to play the cello around the same time, and it was almost like a nice introduction or beginner course for some elements of the cello. I definitely think the Rhythm Heaven series with its cute graphics, awesome music, and relatively simple rhythm would be great for teaching kids some fundamental musical concepts
