What do you mean by speaking with the questions? The Oral interview question or the listen to a question being spoken and respond.. I'm not sure which one you need. 🌺

Thank you teacher Sally for your great efforts. I watched most of your videos to study for the test. I got my result today and scored 115 unfortunately. I am a bit disappointed with the production section as it is only 90, so what can I do to improve it. My target is to get 135 score 🌷

Production is speaking and writing or one of those. In your subscores, maybe you can figure out if its one over the other by seeing what they say about the other areas. If the problem is speaking, I advise that you practice reading sentences aloud and record yourself and listen to yourself to make sure you're pronouncing the words clearly. Then for both writing and speaking, you can practice answering prompts for any type of test- IELTS, TOEFL, SAT, or any duolingo prompts you find online. The more you do it, the more you get used to responding to these things quickly.

One way is to just speak a lot. Find essay prompts and practice responding to them out loud. Also practice reading aloud.

My Dear Ma'am, I've practiced from all of your videos, and my result is out. (Literacy-105 ) , ( Comprehension-125), (Conversation-110), (Production-80) Overall-110 This is my score. The only real advice I have is to keep practicing. Look at your subscores and see where you need improvement and work from there. If its production, then I advise practicing with essay prompts both in speaking and in writing. If its vocabulary, then I think learning root words and prefixes and suffixes can help. Practice reading aloud for pronunciation. If its dictations, then practice those. I think you have to focus on your specific areas that are the weakest.

How much time did you practice in between the tests? I would advise you to look at what subscore is not the highest or the lowest, and then work on one that is in the middle. Those tend to be easiest to improve faster. If it's something like writing, I would say write one sample a day and really take the time to revise your answer and see how you can make it better and then rewrite the same one. Then the next day do the same thing again. If it's something like vocabulary, I would try to maybe find dictations of words and practice writing words you hear and checking the spelling afterwards to see if you are right or wrong. That will help you to see spelling patterns in English. I think just spend time on one subscore for a bit in stead of practicing everything.

I’m not the best to ask because I haven’t kept up with TOEFL. Years ago I used to work with the man that runs this blog. I doubt he remembers me but I do remember he was an expert in TOEFL. bettertoeflscores.com I think some is free but he will also charge to have him help you personally. I wish I knew more resources. I am sure someone has a great free resource. Maybe if someone else sees this post they will give you recommendations!

I think one thing to do is practice answering a question, but record yourself. Play it back and listen to see how clearly you're pronouncing the words. Sometimes pronunciation can affect this. It may help to slow down your speech some. I don't know how your pronunciation is, so it's just a guess. The other thing to do is just to practice the recordings to get used to speaking without much preparation and listen to yourself to critique your own answers.

The vocabulary doesn't seen to have one particular source. I think by reading a variety of sources you can get a lot of exposure to vocabulary. I also think you can find words in the academic word list and general vocabulary lists.

Maybe it's not as you think! Please let me know how you do! Writing and speaking are hard. I think a lot of people have awkward answers in those, but can still get a good score! Sometimes they ask questions and we can't think of anything at all to say. But even if your answer isn't perfect, hopefully its enough to get what you need!

Yes. But when is your deadline to apply? I think the best thing to do is look at the sub-scores and figure out which area is your weakest, and then work from there.

Honestly, the best way it to just practice. Find any essay prompts and just practice saying your responses out loud. You can also practice reading aloud because that helps with pronunciation.

Speaking question I must say that status is crucial to all people and wealth is most likely to be showed by those who seek for higher status. They usually show off their material things such as fancy cars, mansions, or luxury jewelry in an attempt to prove their rank in society. In terms of the reasons why they are doing so, it is because they think that higher status means that they are admired or they are superior than those who are lower status. What's more, people with higher status tend to get more opportunities from several aspects in life than those who seem to be poorer. For example, poor people struggle to get access to lots of things like health care, education, and more. Those are the reasons why I think people desire a higher status for themselves. Overall great job! to be 'shown' (past participle). I think it's very well written. You have answered the question. You have also given examples. You've spoken a lot about how people want wealth and the reason they want to be wealthy and have status. Just something to think about- what about just the symbols? Do poor people use these same kinds of symbols to appear wealthier than they are? What advantage does showing off these symbols have for those who don't have as much wealth? Is there any reason to try to have status symbols if you do not have wealth?

It really depends on the score that you need. Most people will score in the middle of their range score. I don't know what you need for the school you wish to attend.

Jaspreet Kaur I cannot know for sure what your score will be. Based on the average, you would probably get 105, but it’s completely a guess. I really cannot predict for sure. The question is, if you don’t get 105, would you have time to take it again? I would decide based on that question.
