I still think to this day and feel bad for some of the ppl who died b4 this. Hershel, Bob, Beth, Tyreese, Mika, Meghan, Lilly, Dale and all the other good ppl should have lived to see Alexandria. Hershel would have probably got his old veterinarian job back. Bob could have been assigned to a scavenging team w/ Sasha. Tyreese could have been a guard, Beth could have been a singer who performs concerts in houses and etc

Personally, I loved this episode, still do. It reminds me of the farm days back in season 2, Also Deanna adds a touch of class to the show, kinda like Hershel did. I just enjoy seeing some domestic, every day living kind of stuff after all the cannibals and rapist cops, and seeing how assimilating into a normal life is a new challenge.

This season is why Glenn is in my top five - especially this episode. He's grown so much and I love how much he stands up for himself now. Back in season one episode two, he wanted to speak and trailed off but Rick told him to speak his mind so he did. He doesn't need prompting anymore and he stands up for both himself and everyone he cares about. He doesn't take a backseat anymore. All the characters have grown but I think Glenn has grown more than most of them. I know a lot of people say Daryl has grown probably the most (and in most situations I would agree with that), but I think a lot of people also overlook the extent of Glenn's growth. Imagine him behaving like this in season one. For me it's basically impossible. If he did say what was on his mind it was often with uncertainty or hesitation. He speaks right at people's faces now and stands up straight. He knows what he's doing out there, these boys don't, and he's not afraid to say that that's the case and he's not humble about it because he knows how dangerous it can be to act like they did. This episode in particular just really stands out to me because of Glenn and his growth as a whole really stands out to me. Imo if you had to rank someone for MVP this episode I would definitely say it's Glenn!

I don’t know if you picked-up on it but Carol’s actually playing the “sweet, innocent house-wife” angle right from the start. She’s very clumsy and awkward in handing her weapon over, like “Oh, good heavens! This is so heavy. Which end do the bullets come out of, again?”😂

It really is weird to hear people talk about things that we take for granted: going to work, hanging out, playing video games, school - that kind of thing. The closest to video games that Carl has been since the turn was after they left the prison when he and Rick took up temporary residence in a house before The Claimers came in. He seemed to have been admiring someone’s media setup, but the next cut was him using the TV’s power cord to secure a door. I thought it was Enid outside the gates in the dilapidated house. It’s interesting to see the group try to fit into essentially suburbia after living rough since the turn. Carol - love her. The group has had to transition into doing stuff they never would have done previously to survive, but to see her go from a meek suburban housewife to the badass she is to trying to revert back - hilarious and awesome. Daryl’s reaction to her new “cloak of invisibility:” Remember that he has known her since the Atlanta camp, so he knew how she was when she was with Ed and has witnessed first hand what she is capable of, so seeing her go back to that is probably like watching a dog walk on its hind legs. Like, “Wow. That’s something you don’t see every day.” Another thing I observed: since it popped up as a recommended video, I went back and watched your reaction to the Sophia emerging from the barn scene. Even with Rick being freshly shaven and shorn, there’s a certain youth with the characters that were around back then and still around. Carl, for obvious reasons, but Daryl, Carol and Rick all look SO much younger back then. I don’t think the actors have aged that much (Carl aside), but whatever the makeup people have been doing to show that the zombie apocalypse ages people majorly has done a damn good job.

I love that Carol is using her suburban, soccer mom persona again, to stay undercover. You don't want to give away too much, right? She's staying incognito - just in case. lol Her ordeal with Ed by putting on a mask for the neighbors, comes in handy here. 16:36 Rick & Carl's stance against the walkers. So iconic. 😉🤭🤗 Everybody talks about Carl growing up on this show, but everyone forgets that Glenn did too. He was shown to be very strategic from the very beginning, but we have to remember that he was a still a teen/YA when this all started, and a pretty innocent one at that. He's come a long way to badassery. Great introduction to Alexandria. I'm like most of them, not willing to let my guard down, but Deanna does seem okay, right. Great reaction! 😊🌺🏝️❤️

Season 3 is when the apocalypse was only a yr in we get that confirmation from the Governor when he first meets Rick and he tells him why fight and throw away what they’ve been building. Woodbury and the Prison for almost a yr. I think at this point if I remember it’s only been a yr and a half almost 2 yrs at best.

Season 5 Rick doesn't disappear with just a shave and a haircut. "We'll just take this place." XD! Your comment about inside and outside dogs was right on the nose. That is exactly what is happening here. Can they adjust? Should they? Will some adjust better than others? Rick's group is definitely needed here. As Glenn proved quite easily on the "patrol". Carol, is an absolute gem. Her "act" is beyond marvelous. Get used to learning a bunch of new names. That girl with long hair that Carl sees in the window I've always assumed was Enid (the same girl who was climbing the wall later on). She just quickly backed away from the window. This is definitely a new experience for everyone. Great reaction. I can't wait to see how you react to future events. Until then, keep on keeping on.

I think this is a fun episode, because it is so strange to see people acting as if the world never went to hell, and seeing how Rick and the group react to it. Carol is hilarious dressed like a grandma and acting all innocent and naive. Rick is so savage in this season and even after shaving and cleaning up and buying into what Deanna's selling him, he is still like "We'll take this place" if things go wrong. Daryl not wanting to be a part of the community makes me sad though.

One of my all-time favorite scenes; Rick &co. are all bedded down in the living room. They were given two houses, but Rick knows it's safer to stay together (on the ground floor). This is a great episode. The rest of the season is honestly. I enjoy seeing the group in this setting. After being through so much, can they adjust to being in this type of setting again? Some of them never really were in the first place (Daryl). I definitely would've loved to see how some of the other characters would've handled being here as well. Hershel, Beth, Tyreese... even Shane. What would THEIR jobs have been? There's such a nostalgic feeling to the episode as well. For me at least. I absolutely love Carol and Rick in this too. Carol is playing those people so hard it's hilarious. And Rick on such high alert, he's ready to "take" that place from them. Sounds kind of Governor-ish if you ask me. Great reaction as usual. Love how you guys are sizing the place up and trying to figure out if you can trust anyone there.

When I first saw this episode and when Rick said they were gonna take the place I thought that the "good" group we've been following from the start was gonna break bad, like all the groups they've come across and we thought were "bad" for using and abusing other people. I find this kind of moral evolution and subjective perception of right/wrong very intriguing, especially in the context of an apocalypse with no higher authority that can punish you. Morality of survival, if you will. Rick and the group are safe inside these walls but is it moral to stay there at any cost? Even if they have to suppress the original group? ... Food for thought.

Man this was an awesome Lacey and Steve episode. I haven laughed this much on any of your previous episodes. Comic Comparisons : In the comics Alexandria’s Leader is a man named Douglas rather than a woman Personally I think it being a woman is a nice change of pace from all the male leaders (aside from Dawn at the hospital)
