Duotone Capa kite & Spirit Carve Hydrofoil review | Water Time

After the first try out on land we tested the Duotone Cape on its hydrofoil capacities. We tested the 11m and 15m Capa, we found out the the 11m has a great low end, but what about the relaunch in those wind conditions? In the How low can the 15m go part, we waited for the lightest breeze and experience if we can fly the Capa 15m under 5 knots. Interesting for snow kiting.

Yes. When light wind performance is being tested it's a great thing to show a wind meter in real time. (usually in the corner of screen) It is more accurate than guessing, or estimating the wind speed. Do not misunderstand. I am looking into the capa and really enjoyed watching this video!! I got 3 questions about the bar setup. I know that Duotune had dedicated foil bars, but does the capa also work with the trustbar 2019 or clickbare 2020? And I noticed that you have the bar depowered quit a bit, why is that? And what would be the least amount of knots you think you could foil in with the 11m capa?

the trustbar foil has more depower line than the standard trsutbar or clickbar, so if the wind goes up in the high range, you will be in a trouble ... it will work of course but be careful. The capa works with all bars: low V or Y.

Depower to let the kite fly and generate its kite speed. Foil kites need flying speed for the most power

Thanks! I have just realized that water is not really deep. Which mast are you using on the carve? (I'd say 75cm but I might be wrong)

Imagine at your local spot I setup for you a Soul and a Capa both 9m with 22m line bars, and give you a Moses 633/483 91cm mast Foil to use. It's blowing 12-14 knots and all you have to do is ride, which kite do you choose?

15m gives you 1 knot extra low end and More float with jumps. The 13 is a bit more playful
