I've been out a few times now on the Unit V5 6.5m. I really like it. It's a very nimble wing, goes upwind well, and flags really well. My only complaint is the canopy has wrinkles/creases, especially when going hard upwind in the harness. You can see quite a few wrinkle in the canopy at 6:18 in the video. Overall though, performance is good, so maybe it's not an issue. I never had this wrinkles/creases on my other units (V2, V3, or V4) even after two years of use on some of them.

Oh yeah, and I got the boom. I've never been a boom rider, but I like it! I thought I'd miss the angle of the handles, but the straight boom has not been an issue at all. I had tried a Slick once before and didn't like the thick boom (silver?) but this boom is nice and thin

@@DaveSails7 wow very interesting thx for feedback on that - mine seems still ok re wrinkles maybe you hitting it hard awesome :) re the boom slick me too i bought the slick way back and did not enjoy it as much - i tried the boom the other day on a sls concept blue at it was much better and in fact lovely, so with you on that one thx for hello :)

​@cyanwingfoil-kite-dive-travels I should specify I do like to push hard upwind racing in harmess. I thought I'd be better served by the North Mode Pro for racing, but I wasnt a fan of the Mode Pro 6.8. Came back to Units. Love these wings!

Hello, nice video! I'd like to know your thought in between the duotone unit and the Fone Swing in 4m. So in high wind. Whats your choice and which one pull less on the shoulders in the end. I'm 60 and intermediate rider. Thanks

@lewiss66 Hi and thx so much for hello. Ok if you high wind only then the swing will be gentler for sure and you may last longer on sessions. But if you go to under 18 knots the swing 4m wont have the grunt like the unit and the unit will outperform in lower wind lulls. :) nice wings both - the unit will have a bigger range so the unit will be 2- f-one wings in one wing :) I took a 3m unit out in 30 knots and it was juicy :) 4m unit will be from 14 knots and up to 29, I recon - while the swing would be 17 knots to 33 I recon :) try get demos as this may help you - super fun enjoy - both my favorite wings at the current time :)

@@lewiss66 ahahah awe thx yes i am a bit nuts haha thx .. oooh yes the v5 loves overpowered to such an extent that i worry i may damage the wing, so hence its like 2 wings in one due to the range...much better than v4 with range and sooooo smooth - you will enjoy it too much and all the best

Hi @shaungcarpenter thx for hello yes most defs. Smoother, more gentle but more powerful when you need it just super smooth :) flags out better. And the fusion handles much nicer than 2024 version which was last years right ? I have the 4.5 from last year :) hope that helps

Hi legend thx for hello :) ok the 4 or 4.5 wont be great for those winds as the 4 is great from 20 knots and up :) A 6m will be great for you in those conditions so a 6m and 4.5 would be great for 9 knots to 26 knots for you :) You are light so a 5.5 may work great too :) from 11 knots to 22-23 knots hope that helps :) This is based on a biggish foil :)

@ sim. Helped. I use big and smallish front wings. I think I stick with the 5.5. 6 feels really big. And see how it goes. 4.5 over 15-16 knots perhaps. To enjoy too a smallish wing. Or else never 😇 have that nice pleasure. And thanks again. A pleasure
