Duplication Bug Resets Runescape Servers

24hr downtime vs. 6 hr downtime doesn't necessarily mean their response time has improved; Kemp only mentioned the time worlds were down, nor how long the bug was active and abused for compared to the old one, and we have no idea when the previous bug was first reported. That said, their actual response seems to be far better, likely due to (in response to the previous bug) implementing the killswitch to make all items untradeable if another dupe were ever reported. Which is better for the game overall for sure, that they could stop it so fast, but it was super unfortunate for everyone who lost their drops. Hoping Jagex will help them out with their tickets and give them their drops. =(

Of course it was poorly tested. The game was down for half an hour before this entire third of a continent with skilling, minigame, bossing and questing content was added in. They can’t pump out enough updates since CVC capital took over; it’s all about boosting LFL & GP. (That’s gross profit, not gold pieces). And what hurts is that there’re players and high profile content creators endorsing this development. Someone should hit the brakes before this spaghetti-fied game explodes, they can’t implement a new agility course without something else completely different within the game getting bugged. It’s actually a shambles 😄
