The premise is so tender. A time when adults understood the concept of maturity, and acted accordingly.

Yes and now it is a mess with movie stars and barely mature stars influencing many.

I was adopted in Southern California. I was 6 years old in 1956. I had (and still have) the same toy sewing machine. My dolls looked like Genevieve. It was kind of eerie watching this story.

Such a beautiful and tender story that gets to the heart of children's play and how it prepares them for the real world, and love!

WOW!! Thanks so very much for this one!! I have been looking for this since forever!!! I remember back in the 1980's, "The Nostalgia Channel" aired this and it is such a wonderful story that indeed brings on the waterworks. Cheryl Callaway is so adorable in this and she was in a number of movies and in other TV series of the 1950's. Why can't TV be like this, clean and innocent? ,All it is today is garbage and tons upon tons of commercials. TV of the 1950's 60's and 70's was and IS the best!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! Thank you again for this wonderful story, you have made me, and I am sure many others very happy with this wonderful offering! This also is a very nice looking 16MM print!! So glad you transfered this so we all can enjoy this wonderful feel good story!!!

The doll is an Ideal Saucy Walker, one of the first hard plastic dolls, with Saran (a plastic material) hair. Before this, dolls had mohair or human hair wigs. I do doll repair and regluing a wig is a piece of cake. Lol! But this was adorable. The little girl is so cute!

I collect vintage dolls from compo to hard plastic and always drool over the dolls in old movies and TV shows 🤤😺 there's usually just a fleeting glance of them but thankfully you can stop and zoom in 😊

Peggy Webber and Jeanette Nolan were among the finest radio actresses, during radio's golden age. When TV began to replace it as the dominant medium, they started working in TV. Peggy turned 99, a couple of weeks ago. She still runs an acclaimed audio drama company.

One of my teachers in graduate school had a class that taught teachers how to create one and I loved her as much as my grandmother. I still have the textbooks from it and these toy libraries as they were called really work. These have been redefined as modern preschool and daycare centers where kids can learn from them. This class no longer exists because times have changed.

Besides the sweet story ….What a fantastic idea for a “toy loan” and then adoption …most kids today do not take care of there toys because they are so ready available…I’m going to show this to my grandkids..of course they will think it is goofy 😊 but maybe they will learn something from it. I have my dolls , my grandmothers dolls and my great aunt and great Grandmothers dolls…I want to pass them down to my grandkids someday but sadly or luckily I have one granddaughter that loves dolls …the other 10 granddaughters think dolls are creepy😢…..wish we could go back to those wonderful past days.

Adopted children or not, this is a great idea, investing time in children, neutering, and teaching them empathy. It is lacking in today's children

I immediately could identify the little boy shown here in this episode. He played Hope Lange's young brother Joey in the blockbuster movie 'Peyton Place' that earned several Oscar nominations. Is Dupont Cavalcade the same as Cavalcade of America? The reason I am anxious to know is because my top fave, LISA GAYE played in 3 episodes from Cavalcade of America [1955-57], but, sadly, I do not have the titles of the episodes. Can anyone help me with the titles?

Imagine suffering the loss of your mother and being forced to call another woman mother and reprimanded if you didn’t ?! Hopefully a better understanding now of child psychology And human behaviour prevents that trauma now
