I know what you mean. I lived through that era and have compiled a playlist on my channel of around 500 of the best pop songs ever. It's mostly 80's and some 70's but it takes a huge amount of prospecting to add a more modern song. You should check it out it's a good time. 😊

Probably one of the most prolific 80’s bands, particularly in the early 80’s. There weren’t many bands that could match Duran Duran back then, they were extremely popular.

I actually bypassed this tune for over a year after I had been listening to the album. Then decided to listen again, and liked it. Paper God's is in my top 3 DD albums, it's actually got a flavor to it like no other DD albums, but then so have most of their albums because they experiment with their sound and don't disappoint.

I agree Nik, I know the guys don't like this song, got lucky to spend sometime with a couple of members in Sydney when they were supporting Robbie Williams and promoting reunion album. They said they don't like playing it live, didn't really like the song. Real shame cause I think it is one of their best songs. Always wondered if any copyright issue arose around the singles bass line, it is very similar in verses to "Working Day n Night" by Michael Jackson, just speculation on my part. Great song Great clip.

I remember buying this in Woolworth's in Manchester late 1981. - I never liked the Album version as much. this video was on the video collection they released. the b side was really good too. I think it was called like an Angel (or eyes like an angel) and was quite laid back and chilled. My vinyl warped cos i played it so much and i have always disappointed that it was never on their compilation albums.

These guys were my first ever live gig,saw them when I was 18!! What an amazing night!!! That was almost 40 years ago!!!!!!

one of my first serious celebrity crushes was on JT, i was 11, 1985...and i still get googly eyes when i see him, some things NEVER die❤
