My dad, a 3rd generation Japanese American who grew up around East LA, raised me on good soul and Chicano oldies and I've been increasingly appreciating those classics the past few years. Malo- Suavecito, Rosie and the Originals- Angel Baby, etc. Now I'm now getting to share with him all this amazing neo-soul and chicano oldie style contemporary music, full circle. Feels good :)

This is soo cool!!! Thank you for the artwork ‘ ItsStephJM ‘ ! CBB Update: Now that you guys got a look at the new animation style you can see what’s in store for future episodes but they are going to have more crazy cartoon moments . (Things you’d seen in old cartoons like “Animaniacs”, “Looney Toons”, etc.) There are 2 separate cartoon episodes being worked on right now , but I will probably share a few screenshots of these episodes in the next few days. Hopefully next episode will be finished by next month! I will keep you guys posted! Much love and respect to you all and please be safe! 🤓🙏🏾❤️

Lyrics Let's go cruisin' to the park Cruisin' after dark Let's go out Slow it down to five On an endless drive Let's go out Baby, let's cruise together It's you next to me Maybe we'll cruise forever In pure ecstasy Someday you will go To streets we don't know For now, we'll just glide Enjoy the ride So let's go cruisin' to the park Cruisin' after dark Let's go out, baby Slow it down to five On an endless drive Let's go out Slow it down, where's the hurry? Float through these streets Bring the Sun, leave the worry Sail upon the breeze Someday you will go To streets we don't know But for now, we'll just glide Enjoy the ride So let's go cruisin' to the park (Yeah) Cruisin' after dark Let's go out (Oh, baby) Slow it down to five (Oh) On an endless drive Let's go out

I worked with Art Laboe as a music assistant and answering requests at KRLA in the '70s. We called this genre "Base Records". I will forever love this Chicano sound. It is the LA I love. Base music is the best!
