Durango, Colorado, First Day Fails

Our first full day in Durango and our plans we had made was slightly changed. We still had a great time and enjoyed visiting the town.

You’ll love the train. We had a great time. Silverton was a cute town. Pagossa springs not far from you. Great hiking trails there ,enjoy.

I live in Farmington New Mexico. I've been to Durango 1000 times. I have never got busted on a over due parking meter. Tough luck guys. Hope y'all enjoyed the 4 corners.

Welcome to Durango! The Pinkerton Hot Springs location used to be on the other side of the highway, but has been piped under the highway and what we you see is a man-made formation with natural hot spring water.

We have one of these in northern Nevada called the "Fly Geyser" very colorful to.

The hot spring looks a whole lot like a miniature volcano only water instead of lava.

Had a derailment near here a week ago after the rain. Lilburn, Ga. Near Stone Mountain. Track washout. Three locos and 170+ cars. Hazmat, nasty. Strange not to hear the horns from a mile away at 3:00AM...

Funny how some things are the same everywhere. I live near a town that basically lives off tourism and on a weekend in the summer those meter maids are on the ball lol. Been nailed a few times myself.

The best dogs are the ones with the skin/casing on them. I believe Nathan's has them and I know Ball Park (a surprise) has them with the "natural casings" on them. It's really hard to not like them with the casings yet, not that many stores stock them. Some of those employed as "purchasing agents" for the big stores need to discover what food is all about. I'll bet none of them drink or drank buttermilk which explains why you rarely see brand choices in the cooler, you're stuck with the one worst brand ever, Knudsen. Their buttermilk is crap, no butter chunks, it's too thin and hasn't got the "bite" flavor to it. Hot dogs, chips and buttermilk, what a combo ! The best buttermilk in the big chains is Safeway/Vons Lucerne brand. Don't forget the mustard goes on dogs.

@@AbomAdventures Yes, I'm one of those who drink it, especially in summer or hot weather. However, it truly is an ingredient to thousands of cooking recipes yet grocery management doesn't think of it that way. They all believe its a thing of the past as "no one drinks it like they did in the 50's and 60's ". Think again, I've got fried chicken to cook Mr. Expert high level grocery purchaser !
