Durango RT Jet Xcelerator install and review

So my jet Xcelerator came in the mail today. Right away I wanted to install it so I took a step by step video of the process. After the install, I went out for a little test drive and wow what a reaction!

I got my Durango recently 2020 model and I’m going with a borla exhaust and doing little things to make it sound good and get it a little faster. Do I need that specific gas pedal for the Jet Xcel to install or I can use the factory gas pedal ?

I installed this but it out my car in limp mode as soon as i started it. What can I do to fix this?

Same setup as the petalbox, was yours just a plug and drive? I had to prime the accelerator a couple times, but worth every cent.. Great video

What I’m tryin to understand is how are you able to feel and see gains on your truck with chip and Excelerator with your pcm being locked????

Hey, the Xcelerator is not hp gains, it's a quicker throttle response 100% Its fun! As far as that Chip goes, I dont know lol call the company and ask, but I'm telling you I feel a nice kick. If you plan on tuning your Durango don't buy the Chip, I got mine for $100 so it was cheap. I'll tune mine soon.

DurangoRT at first I was gone by a pcm unlocked for my durango but when I saw ur video on jet chip I start doin research and I found other companies that have chips much cheaper but sum was sayin that your pcm has to be unlocked for chip to really do its job.. with these chips u only get 25-30 more hp.. and I’m good with that because I have Volant intake and I’m getting mid muffler delete.. I just need a lil more I’m knott changing major stuff

Did you have the check engine light come on after the install? Also did you have to get a tune for it to work?

After awhile you don't notice it anymore, but I remember feeling it in beginning for sure. Try and buy it on sale, they are always giving out discounts on their web page if you sign up for email alerts.

Most interesting thing about video was disconnecting negative terminal on battery. Other than that, i will pass on the mod. BBK 85mm throttle body has been my best first mod to my 2023 Durango RT 5.7 Premium

@Raul Castro So I don't have my Durango anymore, I absolutely loved it though. I bought a ecoboost mustang fully molded etc. I never had any issues or even a check engine light, I even had long tube headers on my Durango also. Good luck man

Yes you definitely feel a difference from the increased voltage.

It doesnt make you do anything faster. These just adjust the "curve" of the electronic throttle vs pedal position. For example, one of the levels might adjust it so at 10% pedal, its giving you the same throttle youd normally have to push the pedal 30% down for. So you are spending $300 or whatever to literally just push the pedal not as far as you normally would. There are no performance gains whatsoever unless youve got like..some disability that prevents you from moving your ankle rapidly or something. The product would be fine if they weren't so deceptive in the marketing and fooling people into thinking they make your vehicle perform any differently.

Zero HP, all it does is increase the throttle response. Which basically feels like a more aggressive acceleration even when applying low amounts of pressure on the gas pedal. It's pretty cool tbh.

Mine put my truck in limp mode and threw codes. Did yours?

My 2017 Durango did the same thing. It threw up 9 engine codes, all throttle body related and I couldn’t accelerate faster than 22mph. I had to remove it and plug/unplug the battery to reset 😥

@@Zet1Best I had to do that and it still didn't work so I had to get a code reader and clear the codes. I returned the jet xcelerator.

Quick question. Did you leave the performance chip in your engine. Or did you remove the performance chip to instal this throttle response?

Hey!, No I'm using both together. The 2 of them do completely different things. The Jet Xcelerator is adding more voltage to the throttle response. Mean while the performance module just feels like a base 93 oct tune.
