Thank a lot for this video. I put closed captioning on so the music did not bother me at all. You know a lot about the Native American Jewelry. I assume you live in the midwest. I have began to appreciate turquoise and silver lately.

Do u know zuni artist / ZME ZUNI NM? I have a ring from that artist. I think it's a concheta, dont know if i spelled it right. I need work done on it. It has 2 circles on top of each other with 1/2 shell line of jet & 1/2 turquoise. Both halves of turquoise fell out. On ea. side of the ring it has a round piece of coral. Kinda trying to find out if this person still works.

Thanks for the info! I wish I knew everything... I am a semi beginner collector and dealer. I just know I've let some treasures go because I don't know all I should yet... I am always learning though! It's still hard for me to know what mines some turquoises are from... Some of the different ones look alike to me... What would be the best way to tell if turquoise is real or not? I have a huge cluster bracelet that I am not quite sure about. BTW I see some of y'all can't hear the vocals over the music.. It really helps if you use headphones! :)

I am on a turquoise forum, and you can't be completely sure of where a stone is from without actual provenance. But it's fun to learn, and try to guess.

Thank you for the very interesting and informative video! Did the Native Americans also use copper and brass for jewellery? I recently bought a bangle made out of copper with a nice piece of turquoise and cobras made out of brass on it.
@Patty-to3rp

Copper was /is occasionally used; I haven't seen brass. I don't believe a cobra would be on a native American piece.

Should an owner of older jewelry not try to polish the pieces?
@Patty-to3rp
@Patty-to3rp 8 ай бұрын
If you're not selling it it's really up to you, but the patina is part of the beauty. If you're going to sell, I wouldn't polish, because buyers are often looking for the softer look of the silver. Maybe just touch it up lightly with a silver polishing cloth. I practically never have to polish, because wearing the jewelry keeps it naturally polished.
