Correct spelling is Durban. The cruise company is absolutely correct, it’s NOT safe walking around as you are likely to get mugged!

Totally false information. The beach front area with its extended 8 miles lovely promenade is very safe. And if you venture in a taxi or uber to Umhlanga 10 minutes up the road, you will have a first world experience with good restaurants. If you are looking for whores and other underground excitement, then you will have to go to other parts of the city where you might get in trouble.

Yiu can do a day safari from durban ro st lucia or visit tue drakensberg. Ointains. Umhlanga abt 16 kms to the north is also pretty cool

Very very helpful. How long did you have this inside room?. Is 44 days do-able in an inside on Cunard. Seems my attitude is similar.

We were in this cabin for 45 days. It really wasn't that bad because of its location. It was close to the pool and Kings Court. It was the least expensive way for us to cruise from NY to Perth Australia.Thank you for your question and for coming along on our journey around the world.

Hi Douglas, we were very cautious realizing there is an element in Durban we did not want to engage with. We stayed in a tourist area. I wouldn’t take a train unless it was absolutely necessary.
