About Durbin Shah: Durbin Shah is a mystic lyricist of Bangladesh, one of the best commentators of Bengali folk literature, Baulsadhak. He was born on 15 Kartik 1328 BS (November 2, 1920) at Taramani Tila in the village of Noarai on the north bank of the Surma river in Chhatak. This Taramani Tila is later known as Durbin Tila.

Although Sufi and mysticism are prominent in most of his songs, he has written numerous songs of different moods. Dividing these songs into Baul, Bichheda, Regional, Mass Music, Maljora, Jari, Sari, Bhatiali, Gostha, Milon, Radha-Krishna related verses, Hamd-Nat, Marfati, Pir-Murshid Smaran Ala Smaran, Nabi Smaran, Oli Smaran, It can be divided into different parts including devotional songs, mind education, sufitattva, dehatattva, kamatattva, mysticism, paraghatatattva, country songs. In addition, various other verses written by him can be identified under various headings. He went to England in 1986 at the invitation of expatriate Bengalis. His other traveling companion was Baulsadhak Shah Abdul Karim.
In 1974, Ritwik Ghatak, a renowned filmmaker from Kolkata, used his argument in the film Takko and Gappo, a song titled 'Namaz amar hail na aaday' written by Baulsadhak Durbin Shah. All the works of Durbin have been included in the book 'Durbin Shah Samagra' edited by Suman Kumar Das, a researcher of folk literature from Dhaka Utsa Prakashan. He died at the age of 58 in his home on 3rd Falgun 1383 BS and 15th February 1986 AD. (Wikipedia)
