QQ over spirits? Why? online doesn't allow spirits. You can choose to avoid them. No reason to annoyed over some mode in a video game. Core smash is still as great as ever. Spirits do NOT downplay it.

Exactly! I guess the problem is that the spirit mode seems quite extensive and it's hard to grasp the details without touching it yourself, so it took away a lot of momentum. Also people were expecting more new heroes, so they lost already some momentum before. But I was already sold way before this Direct, so everything shown in it is just a bonus to a game I already prepurchased and am hyped about. It's not like the game got worse because of the Direct, it got even better just not in the direction as some allegedly leakes made us hope.

@@googleacount3611 Sans is not a joke tho (Freddy is ofc), there are a few people who really want Sans, he fights, as long as a character fights it fits, and even without being an actual fighter like Isabelle (well, I'm not sure, haven't played Animal Crossing). Yeah, Sans might be a 3rd party character and on top of that an indie character, but who says there wasn't a chance? Shovel Knight is there (as an Assist Trophy, ok); Undertale is available for the Switch and now that Toby Fox released Delta Rune the Undertale fan base is waking up again so it could be good for Nintendo to get the Undertale fans to buy SSB Ultimate thanks to Sans (if they weren't buying it in the first place).

Gab Galla sans no. Shadow yes, he's one of the most wanted characters and since echo fighters came out it seemed more than obvious for him to come. I'm sure nearly everyone who watched this is pissed. Shadow is a badass, edgy, and cool. It doesn't make sense for him not to be featured and sonic being the only character from his series, sure he is third party but castlevania got 2 and they're no where near as popular as one of the most known games.

You only had Kirby originally at the begging of subspace and the other new characters showed up mid game all the old ones you rescued in the main game except Jiggly puff wolf and toon link you had to go back to three hidden areas in previous stages that were not avilable. You also maybe able to unlock characters through playing versus mode like in brawl and melee but it takes for ever I think you had to play 20 hours on melee to get mew 2 who was the last unlockable characters it was him our game and watch took for ever through versus mode on brawl so did gannondorf.

Nobody thought the Grinch was coming to Smash. It's called the Grinch leak because the guy who posted it claimed to work in a printing company and in the background of the picture you can see never before seen art of the Grinch movie, that was why so many people thought it was real.

It wasn't leaking that the Grinch would be playable. It was a fake photoshopped image of the "Everyone is Here" banner art with the characters Ken, Geno, Isaac, Shadow, Chorus Kids, Banjo & Kazooie, and Mach Rider. It's called the Grinch leak because it also had some unrevealed renders of the upcoming Grinch movie which led to people believing it was made in an actual printing shop that was making Smash Ultimate merch.
