No matter how you slice it the MCS family is straight up toxic a mother that uses her daughter as a ATM a father who pretends to be kind but is really after her stuff and a rude and overweight little brother who thinks the world revolves around him I seriously can't understand why she even went on this trip with them in the first place if I have family like the MCS I would definitely keep my distance

Chinese laws. Just as parents are required to support their children until they are adults, children are required to support their parents once they become senior citizens. In the US, we have social security instead that has all current workers paying into a fund that supports senior citizens with a monthly allowance. The monthly allowance is determined by how much that senior paid into the fund in the past but does have a cap. The US also has Medicare as health insurance for senior citizens (since health insurance is usually tied to employment in the US).

@@Rushinator1 So deadbeat adults have kids in order to ensure their own living expenses when they're old? That's pretty sickening. From a purely financial standpoint it's not a bad plan but children aren't cashcows. From a purely biological point, Children never asked to be born and they have no obligation to their birthgivers. A parent succeeds if it's child becomes an independent breeding adult. Continuing their bloodline is their reward. Not even a rat expects it's young to be grateful. Typically a parent is treated in their old age, in the way they treated their child at their most vulnerable. That's why so many 'ungrateful' kids dump their old parents in a care facility and never visit.

The story doesn’t make sense at the end. Did she forget she was reborn and died because of her parents and brother. She was acting all worried but she left them because she knew what was going to happen with the flood. Now at the end some unexpected business pull her away she might not have survived. SHE KNEW WHAT WAS GOING TO HAPPEN ITS REBIRTH!!!!

@ it’s like she forgot she was pacing around her house worried about her family calling them. Why would she do that she left them for dead. Taking to her aunt saying that some business pulled her away if not for that she would have been caught up in it. How the thought terrified her. She knew what was going to happen. It’s like she forgot she was reborn half way through it my issue.

This is similar to another story I heard. A few small differences but the same basic story (daughter is reborn, takes small actions to avoid her original fate, and family perishes due to their own bad choices). She didn't kill her parents, she just took actions that prevented her own death.
