Jay z is jordan of rap how? I can give him credit if we talking consistency, but he definitely not jordan. Lil wayne is the jordan of rap based on his catalogue, classics, longest run ever, lyrics, flows, consistency, influence, and generational impact...and he went on to birth two of the greatest RAPPERS, of this generation, who also hold their own with the longest run in the history of hip hop, classics, catalogue success, consistency, influence, and impact all around the world. No RAPPER in hip hop has ever done that. I'm starting to think Jay z is ranked higher than wayne based on his business acumen than for his actual role in rap. The Lebron of rap is drake and kendrick is the kobe if we talking currently...but drake has a 99% chance of being the Jordan of his generation when it's all said and done.

I wholeheartedly agree about Wayne because he is my favorite. But from a business and hustler perspective Jay Z reigns supreme. Wayne outrapped everyone but Jay outhustled the game. He learned early that he was not better than most rappers at rapping but he was better with paperwork and making deals. Jay later saw that controlling his image was better. It takes a Puffy to constantly say Big was the best rapper ever to put it into everyone's mind all while the people elected 2Pac as the best. Jay took a big stake in Media and did the same thing so that no matter if he was 4th-5th at all times according to Media he was better. He created the narrative in Media that he is the best and every few months he puts something out to continue to make you think that.

@@mb2024OL yes, business-wise he is the best, but we talking about his impact and role in rap. Drake is also about to surpass him business-wise too because his catalogue alone is already worth a billion at a young age. He just signed a 500M deal...something jay z never attained, which is why he pivoted to other ventures outside rap. Drake is the next improved jay z, watch. Actually, Nicki and drake are the new age jay zs of rap.

The next person who came in line to that was Drake and at one time he was my favorite over Wayne because he went that hard. Thats when the ghostwriter stuff came out. I believe Jay started that because with Wayne it could always be debatable because Wayne sold more but they didnt count the hotboy stuff and it made them even. When it came to Drake he was better in all categories so he tarnished his image through Roc affiliates (Meek Mill) and the ghost allegations to knock Drake down. Jay has never been the best at any time commercially but since he controls the media the *perception* is that he has always been number one and he keeps that going. So again I agree with you in every way but the media makes people not even think twice about how you and I feel even though we have the facts the prove it. Its perception that always wins with the masses.

@mb2024OL unfortunately, i dont care about perception. I care about facts and the fact is Jay z has never produced GOATs who can also hold their own in rap...wayne produced two GOATs, and they match his status. Drake ghostwriting rumours don't really taint his legacy because he has been seen penning raps in real time with some of the best rappers present and he also has written for others. He even wrote for jayz's wife and also wrote for kanye.
