Working at something you actually enjoy is still foreign to me. After 40 years of waking up and going to a 9 to 5 job, the hardest part is not having that routine and it takes some time getting used to. I'm not sure if I'll ever fully get used to it. The feeling of "having to be somewhere" and not being there is a little unnerving but then again, working at something you enjoy and getting paid for it is odd, but it more than makes up for it. It's not supposed to be this way. You have to come home angry and over worked, complaining about your boss and how the company treats you poorly. That has been ingrained in my being, and anything different must be just wrong. In the world of IT support you mostly interact with people who are upset because something isn't working right, or something is broken. Most likely the person you are talking to is already angry, not necessarily at you, but their anger is taken out on you. Playing music, old or new, is a pleasurable experience. When someone hears a song like this and they are immediately taken back to their youth and it makes them actually feel youthful again, there is no price you can put on that, especially when they approach you and tell you they appreciate hearing it. Very different than IT support. It keeps all those involved feeling young, including myself. Even though the bones creak just getting out of bed each day, going back to bed that night is peaceful. After all, all we are is dust in the wind.
