Update: People have mentioned they're having issues with the waterfall. It seems to only happen sometimes, which is strange. Offsetting it half height either up or down seems to work for people. I haven't been able to consistently reproduce it, though using a triangle roof does allow you to reconnect it to main.

Hey bro. Instead of splitters use electrical branch. For turrets set them at 10,and for electrical furnace set them at 5. This allows you to save power in the battery.

I have lived in this base for 2 months now and its survived so many raid attempts. The only online raid that was lost was 3 against an 18 man zerg before locker kits had been established and they still spent 60+ rockets without getting the externals or fully into the open core. OPEN CORE TURRETS FTW. I really cant understate what a work of genius this base is. Countless raid defenses and 7 wipes in this base and I've only had to make a few changes 1 I find putting ramps in the ground floor loot root hurts space but adds protection so in the 2 non tc loot rooms thats great. I deploy lockers in front of the mobility shoot windows to prevent raider knowledge of the doorpath. The Funnel side bed pods on the roof support 3 sams and the other 3 have raised turbines which is just enough power. It really is a masterpiece Dust. My hard hat is off to you.

I play on console, we did this build this time around and let me tell you , we took 4 onlines, than today 19 PlayStation players decided to merge raid. It was a 3v19 we held up for a little over 2 hours defending. It was pretty epic. Strongly recommend this base🔥

I find that electrical branches are better for optimizing your power output. A turret doesn't use the same electricity as a furnace for example; and a splitter will split the output equally into thirds meaning that the turret uses as much as the furnace, which is a waste of electricity. Assuming your battery has more than 100 electricity generation at all times (it's max intake), it should be able to power 9 turrets at most. Since you only have use for 5, this frees up a lot of electricity that isn't being optimized properly. For example, you could have a lot more furnaces throughout your base, or you could use the remainder in lighting. With that current setup and using electrical branches to specify the output instead of relying on splitters, you could add at most 11 furnaces to use (11*3=33 + 11*1=11 =44). Furnaces are 3 consumption each, and the electrical branches are 1 each. So we get the bracketed figure this way. Now looking at the turrets, we get 5 of them and so that is 5*10 is 50, and 5 branches needed to support them which is 5+50=55. 55+44 is 99 and almost maxes out the battery's consumption. The remaining 1 power consumption can be spent on the industrial conveyer through the final electrical branches overflow output. tl;dr the batteries can be better partitioned to allow for more usage.

This misconception stems from a fundamental misunderstanding of the difference between splitters and branches. Branches consistently draw the amount of power specified all the time, while splitters only pull the power that's being used. So even if the splitter says it's there's 10 power on the output, if there's only an electric furnace hooked up it'll only use 3 power, and it'll only use that 3 power while it's running. If you were to use branches, it would use that 3 power all the time, because the branch itself pulls the power you set. You could definitely put branches off of one of the splitter outputs and allocate it that way, but this is the most simplified circuit for the what this base has in it.

@@dustgg It's good practice to use branches exclusively because using splitters gets to a point where you can't add any more without stretching the electrical supply too thin. Splitters lead outputs at awkward supplies when you want to be using electrical components that don't have a passthrough feature and demand their own branch. Glad you can take constructive criticism though.

I’m fairly new to rust but the electrical stuff fascinates me for some reason. One thing I’d recommend is placing a small battery next to each turret. Instead of splitter to turret, splitter out to small battery in and small battery out to turret. In the event the large battery supplying power is destroyed, you’ll still have power to the turret to last through the raid.

I built this base as a solo and added more peaks turret spots and made it so the shotgun traps had to be triggered by a hbf sensor and it opens the door with shotgun traps. This base is not only one of the best bases I’ve ever build but it’s so cozy and spacious especially during an online. I successfully defended 5 raids before getting offlined and I was there for 3 of them so the base is hella strong regardless

This base has been my go to for a few wipes. But then you realize how easily raidable it is. Offline, terrible. Online = amazing. Needs some tweaks. Example, no windows on the main floor. Loot rooms in open core have no honey comb. Also needs some Sam site placements.

Loot room in open core does have honey comb. Windows with embraces on the main floor is good for the peak. You can put 2 beds and 1 locker at that windows for quick easy defense. There’s no perfect base that can have offline+online+cheap. It really depends on what you prefer and makes some adjustments that suit you the best. You can put 2 turbines instead of 1 by adding 2 squares and you will have 3 spots for Sam site.

Note, with the electrical part. u can use Electrical branches to choose the specific ammount of power u want to run thru, and if u do that, u can give everything the power it needs. Hope this helps people!

For anyone having the issue with the waterfalls not working i found a fix that worked for me. Put a square floor frame, a half wall on top of it, then a triangle roof. That doesnt seem to break the tcs
