is it though? His past solo releases tend to lean towards acoustic country quite a lot. Especially the Please Come Home EP

Dustin is BLESSED with genius level songwriting. And I love how he occasionally hints at that, like in "Heart of Sedona", or through many of his albums with Thrice. The lyrics are often poetry, like in "Light of the Moon". His voice fits the genre so well that at times I get vibes of Johnny Cash. I think the reason he and Thrice never really went mainstream, is that they always stayed true and never sold out. What's more "punk" than that?? Absolutely LOVE this album. Bravo! 🔥🎙️

Is this his biggest slice of Americana ever? I really like the slide guitar. Nice to hear some "down home" stuff from Dustbin instead of him trotting out some biblical references. Looking forward to this album.
@thirdmonkeyent7 ай бұрын
The biblical references are genius and actually has depth and weren't completely on-the-nose and actually had to know your Bible stories and have an IQ higher than 10 to understand them. Plus, all Truth comes from God. Music was created by God. And if you're an atheist, matter in motion can't create immaterial, abstract truth.

If you guys like this album you should check out Shawn James' last album, also a fantasy western. Way more intense lyrics. this album is sonically perfect but the lyrics feel, well, bland, like a worship band wrote it. There are a lot of much better versions of this kind of thing out there from independent country artists.
@namewithoutdigits6 ай бұрын
You're silly. A worship band would not have "damn" or references to cocktails in their lyrics. You have mentioned the other artist in two of Dustin's songs, but fail to even mention the album by name lol
@_s8276 ай бұрын
@@namewithoutdigits buddy this album is super bland if you're already familiar with the genre. Worship music is bland, that's the point i"m making, not that this specific thing is worship music. I'm sure if it's your first introduction to spaghetti-western-inspired music it's going to sound amazing but I'm telling you there are far better albums out there with this sound. Go explore the genre- it's amazing. .
