My first impression when I heard Tom is dating a guy 20years older was like really? what a waste of Tom. Then I saw the picture of them together, Dustin seemed too old for Tom he could be his father. Tom you have an unusual taste and I was bewildered. After a few searches I found out that Dustin is a well-known screenwriter, director, film and television producer. Saw another picture of the couple and I thought hey this guy Dustin actually looks decent and rather cool. Still, why Tom is all into him, he could find a more suitable man. O how wrong I was, how quick was I to judge a person by his looks and age. I didn't know who he was. Dustin Lance Black, what an incredible man. So rich and impeccable in expressions and speech. Standing firm and strong. What a voice!

Tyler - as a 40ish man that likes 20ish guys; I can understand your first though. Mine was questionable as well. - But, I do like Dustin & Tom together, and I do hope that Dustin helps Tom in the "public" category; Since he lacks some "though"

This was by far the most inspirational and heart touching speech I have ever seen. Unfortunately, it is not only in America where we can find this social and cultural delay, but rather many other countries in the world. As you said, progress might be slow, but I hope, some day, we might recognize people for what they do and what they really are rather than for whatever sexual orientation they have. Thank you Lance for all you do for civil and human rights. I had listened to your speeches before, but have never commented on them. Now I feel I have to after I read so many stupid things by coward anonymous people. You are a great guy, and you deserve the love Tom feels for you. Against all that hate you two have already been together almost a year, and I wish you two all the best for the rest of your lives. Lance, many people hate you, but way more people love you. I think that is something you have to put up with when you are in the public eye. Once again, you MAN are fighting for the rights of your haters, haters who hate closeted behind their screen and in their basement.

99% of the commenters on here I agree with wholeheartedly and you can guess which one disgusts me to the core (not wasting any more of my precious time on them). If it wasn't for being British and having watched tom grow up and followed his career I would never known about this guy. I don't know how I didn't know about him because I have been and still are a LGBT supporter for many years. I've never heard such passion and in awe of him. I must admit I was initially taken aback with the age difference, but then saw pictures of them together and I suddenly just saw two people in love and who the hell am I or anyone too judge their relationship. 1- they are happy and never saw tom look so happy. 2 -they are both adults and most importantly 3- none of my God Damn business or anyone else's but there's. Love isn't a number or a gender it's love.
