“I feel there is nothing more artistic then loving a person” -Van Gogh

This song makes me think of all the people in the world, living their lives, looking out their windows, going home on the bus, with that same feeling of sadness, what are we all doing here? What is our purpose? We're all just trying to get by, and that sadness follows us, that feeling of hopelessness, with interludes of beauty.

Not everyone can get enjoyment from that feeling. It's so rare, in fact, that there isn't even a good name for it. "The enjoyment of sorrow". What's the word for that? It's the single greatest emotional experience of my life and I actively seek it out, so that it is so lonely a journey only adds to the pleasure of it. How strange.

It's about love. It's about peace. It's all inside the music itself. I'm speechless. I'm listening. I couldn't figure out. I'm still listening. I hope in reality, there's anyone who can see the heart of mine that I want to love. Thank you Dustin. It's always been pleasant and serene to listen to you. I want emphasize 'listen to "you" ' , for the music itself reveals the part of you. It's been such a pity that I couldn't meet the person who dedicates his/her self to the depth and understanding of such heaviness and gentleness among heart. When I listen more and more, I just realize the gentleness in my heart overflows. Wish for the tranquility inside for those who immerse themselves in sorrow.

I loved this, and also reminded me of something: Music has always been the most unique and main laguange of all human beings of all times. What I see, hear and feel in this video is how life can be so fickle. Sometimes it feels like heaven, and sometimes it feels like you are drowning, but then music is always there to give you shelter, company, and relief... just like this song. Music is life.

In the video, I felt I saw the life of the actual artist. In the beginning he was floating in the air aimlessly, as some people float in life lacking purpose, then a crow I believe pops his balloon forcing the artist to stay grounded, the bird to me could be someone like a father or an important figure reminding the artist to find something worthwhile. So he plummets down to the ocean and sinks down into the depths of the sea, almost as if one has to really dive deep within oneself to find purpose, asking yourself, "what's important, what's my purpose in life" so he finds himself upon a grand piano, and he plays. In the scene where the mermaid is first introduced, it represents the artist love life, he may have encountered a love with someone. But just as quickly as she came, an giant octupus creeps by and scares the mermiad away. To me the giant octopus represented a great obstacle, a problem, a danger which drove the girl in the artist's life, away. So in the next scene he was found alone with the grand piano, and you see him retreat inside. To me it represented that he used his passion to save him from heartbreak. Next you see the piano submerge, break surface from the depths. And he uses his piano as a life boat to keep him surfaced and to withstand the storms. Sometimes our passions saves us from life's storms..eventually the clouds disperse. Sun comes out. Time has passed and crows appear again bit this time in a large group. To me this is his family for emotional support. In which the following scene you see them elevate him to the skies, but just before that, the mermaid appeara again and gives him a shiney star which he takes. To me this means that the girl he once lost, came back into his life and she gave him unconditional love . So after the crows take him to the skies, they lead him to the city. A land of prosperity, business. And he is set center stage in front of a crowd. To me it signifies that he has made something of himself finally, found his purpose. The glow of the star is found on his chest, and he is inside the piano rather than sitting on the bench stroking the keys. To me it represents that the artist does not do this for fame or money, but for soul, and passion driven. And the love from his mermaid reminds him of that.

So this song came on my Pandora on my Erik Satie channel I let play for my two sons, 3 & 4. My 4 years old spontaneously started to get emotional while standing in the middle of our great room, and started to cry, so I held him and he was crying so hard he couldn't breathe. I asked him what was wrong and he just sat in the corner of the room and tried to hide under his train table., Once this song ended he caught his breath and started to play with his brother again. With that being said I could only attribute the emotion he felt listening to this piece to why he was sad and crying....I had to go back on Pandora to see ensure I had the correct song. Absolutely beautiful and moving. Thank you!

This song reminds me of sitting in windows, watching rain fall. The sky is dark and bumpy, and all you hear is the whisper of the rain and when you open the window, you smell the scent of wet earth. Those days, you seem to reflect back on things, good or bad. Everything is slow, languid, sad in many ways. It's the kind of song where you just want time to stop, to never move on....

I found this to be a perfect song to listen to while watching the clouds pass over through the skylight of the atrium in my town's shabby library while I study. When I listen to this I can imagine what my life will be like after college, after all of the hard work, and what it'll be like to gaze into the eyes of my children when I'm finally at peace--when I can finally sit with a cup of coffee and listen to this song once more without worrying about my grades.

So, how you doin these days? Hope you've had your cup of coffee and isn't worrying about your grades anymore ^^. I know the feeling too, but all this hard-work is gonna make sense and be worth it in a not so distant future. Currently, I'd love to just open the curtains, and stare at the stars and the Moon while listening to this Dustin's beautiful song, but I'm having to study math for a big test on sunday, so... I’ve mastered this whole piece. Being one of the first real songs I learned to play, my instructor started crying when she heard me first play this, stating “This is the first piece I’ve ever heard one of my students play that tells me a true story.” According to her, I hold a natural talent for piano, which I’m happy for. I’ve been passionate for this song before I even began learning the piano. To anyone out there that wants to learn- the songs you’re most passionate about will sound the most beautiful.

But all my friends have gone. I've loved and I've lost and life goes on. I love the photographs because they hold the world still. But when all is stirring and the moon is bright I lay awake in the middle of the night. I've never met anyone who feels as much as me, and my soul lives in a place that others cannot see. In the end, and even at the beginning fear and courage live inside of me, but one will defeat the other.
