Islam was winning on a decision anyways but he is talking a huge risk staying on his feet and striking, it's a little cocky and you could see khabib getting frustrated with him.. if he stuck to his take downs he would have won easier... Khabib lost maybe 1 round in his entire career at UFC because he wasnt trying to show he could stand striking.. he simply took them down into deep waters and drowned all of them either on decision or submission.

DC also does that technique where he hangs off of you and makes you carry his weight. They do that and you see the stamina drain on their opponents in real time. I wonder of khabibs people tought daniel that, or the other way around. DC said when him and khabib first grappled that it took him awhile to get passed khabibs hand fighting and that khabib was the most talented grappler he's ever seen ( at the time khabib was early 20s)

Not really … khabib was a master of pressure and weight distribution … islam is not that good at either but is much better at striking …

He wouldn't of hit that ankle pick and transition to submissions if he wasn't good at pressuring and weight distribution. He also fought better competition. And he's better in literally every department. Islam is more dangerous imo. You're kinda diminishing him a bit. He's good at striking. But he submitted Dustin porrier perfectly. He's good at everything. Khabibs style has also been analyzed, fighters didn't know shit about grappling either. Because of him, grappling has been essential for every fighter to learn.

I’m not saying this to take away from Dustin he showed the best version of himself that night, got himself out of many submission attempts and had moments in that fight worthy of making it FOTY and HOF worthy

@@cheezuschristHe's definitely HoF. But islam is just good. Even when he's in a weakened state. Like when people were saying that he was dehydrated and fatigued in his first fight with volk. And he still won that fight. Volk was at his full strength too. When islam is at his full strength he finishes these legendary fighters early. Like charles and volk. I don't think Dustin exposed any weaknesses in islam. He cut him good with an elbow, but an elbow will cut anybody. What I learned in this fight, is that islam can find a finish wherever it presents itself. Like ankle picking Dustin and finishing him in the 5th round. I don't think I've ever seen an ankle pick in a title fight before. Let alone see a finish come right after it.
