I also double up serving and tie a nock point vs using metal. Much lighter, quieter, faster, and less vibration.

tied nock points move & bowfishing is to hard on equipment to worry about a 5grain brass nock when youre shooting a 1600gr arrow.

@@plsbanhackers9031 most contact glues are all the same, superglue, gorilla glue, AAE maxbond, quickdraw's glue...they all work good for nocks.

I'm setting up a 70 year old Bearcats recurve for bow fishing. Using an ams strap on bracket and ams bottle reel. Is there a way I can mount a rest or should I just shoot off the shelf? I'm brand new to bow fishing and don't know squat about it really

Keep it simple stupid..... stay on the shelf. Recurve with a bottle is the most inefficient setup you can attempt though. The drag on the arrow is great & the poundage required is greater. Make sure you adjust your nock for good arrow flight & take close shots.

@@DustinApple I'm setup now exactly how I said, and I'm nailing fish at 15 yards and up to 3ft deep so far. If it's not efficient I can't tell. Maybe I just got lucky hell I don't know

Is a genesis bow fishing bow enough lbs.(lb) to shoot a paddlefish/spoonbill?

No. They make a genesis pro that's 30lbs that should work but the original version is only 18 lbs & not strong enough. You need 25-35# for 90% of bowfishing. For large fish 35-45 is common.

🤷‍♂️ no idea who you are, I don't tolerate negativity or bowfishing drama. No room for posers in my circle. I stay positive and share lots of good information. I personally don't use them because they ■drag in the water & lessen penetration. ■increased arrow splash ■slow to untie/retie ■causes broken reels ■added expense to arrows ■more pieces to fail & break

Get rid of the finger things. Set nock point 5/8" high, nock point overcand under arrow nock, shoot a full three fingers under, and wear a golf glove.
