It took so long because this is DeBoer & staff's first season at Bama. You can't expect the guy to step in with an entirely new roster, set up totally new offensive & defensive schemes and thrive consistently right off the bat. Especially after having Saban and his system there for 15 years or so. I'm actually impressed at how well year one has gone, "so far".
