You have no idea how this takes me back. I took my girlfriend to this movie when it came out because she was a big Mark Hamill fan. We ended up seeing this movie many more times because we both enjoyed it so much. We are married today and still watch it every once in a while. This song and this movie are very special to me. Thank you.

One of the best movies ever made. An unsung classic of epic propositions like Cecil B demilles ' the ten commandments ' and ' close encounters of the third kind' the historical accuracy of a young man's trials and tribulations building his dream always gives me super courage. Have a beer and enjoy Kenny Skywalker. 😉

Well in particular, this Corvette was a little gaudy. I mean, drivers seat is on the right side, the hood scoop things (particularly my least favorite) and the exhaust pipes on the side. In 1970-something when this movie came out, I'm sure it was a bad-ass car everyone wanted. Oh and I think it is the song, too! Lol never saw the movie to be honest...I'm a Dusty Springfield fan and found this.

I love Corvettes in general (currently on my 2nd one) but I was never a fan of this particular ultra gaudy, over the top, "typical 70s" custom LOL. But the song? And more importantly, the movie? SIMPLY SPECTACULAR! This movie strikes a chord with me EVERY single time I see it, it leaves me with an almost sad 'empty' feeling when it's over and I don't know why. Might be the awesome song or it could just be that I don't want it to end! :-) Thanks for posting it. 8-)

I remember seeing this at the El Dorado drive-in in 78'. I loved the chemistry between Mark and Annie...Wished it had not taken the "stolen car" plot...but instead focused on how this extremely talented, yet socially awkward and emotionally abandoned teen finds his soulmate and how this hooker wannabe..(unwilling to love deeply) finds that love is more than a transaction.
