I'm a descendant of Wessel Wesselse Ten Broeck and Jan Thomaszen Eckerson. A lot of the names I hear about are distant relatives of mine, so this stuff is fascinating to me.

That's great! The New York State Museum is located in Albany, NY only 2,5h from New York City by train. In New York City you can also to the Museum of the City of New York. In their "New York at its Core" exhibition you will find information about the Dutch in New York as well!
