Apparently it's a pretty big thing too! This was the event's 10th year anniversary and there was about 50 fursuiters on the mountain (though I only uploaded clips of the days we went out to ski on our own, the link to the video of the official event is in the description). I ended up taking Sonar's eyes out of the head completely so I would have crystal clear vision through the goggles, as a safety precaution, because her vision is not that great otherwise and we stayed away from crowded areas. It was definitely an interesting experience that I will do every year now! Next up on the bucketlist is fursuit skydiving, or bungee jumping! X3

If you have an adequate suit and you know your limits/be safety conscious, I absolutely recommend trying it! It is such a blast, now I don't want to go "normal" snowboarding anymore X3

Fursuitng goals *-* Now we just need more snow, lol. Is it as fun as it looks? Or is it more challenging in suit? How good of vision do your suits have, and would you say that drastically affects how hard/easy this is?

I'm not a winter person (more accurately a "can't stand the cold" person) but I have a new reason to wish for snow now! Yeah I'd say it's as fun as it looks XD Challenge factors, safety factors, etc. greatly depend on the kind of suit you have. I am now in the process of designing a new suit specifically with snowboarding in mind- proper frontal vision being the biggest consideration. Sonar's eyes are much further apart, so I end up looking out through only one eye (because I'm facing sideways down the mountain being a snowboarder) but at least the other eye was useful for seeing who's coming up on my side and I tried to keep to the right side of the mountain so people were less likely to come up on my backside. Doing that for hours on end was pretty straining on my eyes though. I wore Tumbleweed for one of the days while she wore her snow leopard suit and the experience was pretty different mostly in the vision- it was a lot blurrier looking through fabric but the more frontal vision was much welcomed. Oh and we also went down blue runs, which was a lot more intense in suit than the first day's greens, especially since I had not had any practice in Tumbles prior. But it meant I got to live up to the character's name! I wouldn't say it's much more dangerous than skiing/boarding already inherently is, but I do recommend doing it with a suit that has best vision possible regardless. Foam padding on the head is adequate helmet as well but not all suits are created equal there. I'd be super super careful with a resin head. As an additional safety measure, I actually took Sonar's eyes out of the head completely so I would have a crystal clear view through the goggle lens (which I used a one-way mirrored privacy film on Plexiglas) so no one could see in and I could see out. We also stuck to the less crowded runs much as possible. The only other weird thing was the tail, it would act like a tripod sometimes when it shifted under me and at times felt that it was pushing me forward a bit. And the tail was awkward on ski lifts. And last challenge was introducing holding a GoPro into the equation, which was the first time I got to play with it and had bought specifically for this event. We had also not gone snowboarding/skiing in several years and were a little concerned about picking it up again, so we did two runs without suits to get the feel and the hang of it ,which was a piece of cake thankfully, and adding fursuits surprisingly did not impact the experience as much as I expected. Except now all eyes are on you on the mountain!

Vincent Purple Guy You don’t need a fursuit to be a furry! Most furries don’t have suits. If you want to be a furry, or you like the furry culture and art, then you’re a furry. It’s As simple as that. Also the eyes are probably glued or magnetized in. She probably glued them back in.

I don't think you realise fursuit can cost easily up to 2,000 and that's still a relatively cheap price for them. not to mention I wouldn't recommend getting one at 12 considering you don't stop growing till about 20 (depends) so you'd just grow out of it.

It looks like they actually have little 'ski' for the tails too, so the fur doesnt get messed up, but its hard to tell for sure. They have no source of heat, so they would just get snow in them, so i would imagine it would not be as messy as one might presume...

Advice for the snowboarder: Currently, you are using your body weight to turn, which is not ver optimal. You are using your arms to turn, and you can see the arm moving around. After getting comfortable with S-turns, you should try not doing this because it really blocks your progression.
