Great video Mark and I like the set-up! See you in part 2 😉

Yet another great watch and listen Mike. You are a natural in front of the camera. I have the standard Brit Army Goretex bivvy bag which is great and have been thinking about adding DIY hoops but have also considered getting hold of the Dutch hooped bivvy but as I like my hammock so much haven't got around to it yet. Like you Mike, a lot of my kit is ex military, reliable and built to last, a bit weighty at times but managable. I like your LK35 pack. You really have turned stealth camping in to an art. I was out today and it was a tad chilly. Got some footage recorded and managed a brew on the wood stove :) Bloody heck Mike you gave me a shout out. Huge surprise. I will be returning the compliment in my next video. Thank you Sir. Looking forward now to watching part 2. Happy Wandering. Paul :)

Paul Outdoors Hey Paul, I'm anything but natural behind a camera Lol, find it so hard lol...But as I build on vids i hope it'll get easier! Bloody stressful ain't it!!! Thank you for say that though mate👍 I'm the same, I used to ground dwell until I found my love for hammocks Lol. Yeah military gear is built to last and if you don't mind wearing camo then all is good.👍Love the old 'displacement pattern material' D.P.M Hey Paul have you done a vid of your outings today? With the stove? Hope so, look forward to watching you in the great outdoors my friend. Like I've said before thank you very much for such kind words and for watching my vids mate👍👍👍👍🌳🌳🌳🌳🌳🌳🌳🌳🌳🌳 Wishing you a great week Atvb Mike

Black Country Woodsman My pleasure Mike. Yes it can be daunting being in front of the camera and something I don't do much of but will do in 2018. You come across really well. I have part 2 lined up to watch. Paul :)

Paul Outdoors Lol Paul it bloody well is daunting! But for each video it gets a little less lol👍 Ah cool Paul look forward to seeing you infront of the camera and chatting to us... Thank you as always for watching and the kind words Take care

Thanks for the trangia tip, without having to buy the winter kit, expensive, I have always used a piece of rolled up paper to make a sort of sick to help it bloom, now I don't need to take my note pad.

Over the years, you've had different kit. Nice to see how you set them up.
@BlackCountryWoodsman5 жыл бұрын
Hello Caroline, for quite a few years I used the cheapest kit I could get away with. The tarp I used for years was £6.00 camo thing from china. Also an old british army bivi. Only in recent years have I been able to get gear I'd always wanted. Ah thank you Caroline, you're so very kind and always lovely to hear from you...Hey I bet you're counting down the days for your wild camping adventure!👍🏻 Take care 🌳🌳🌳🌳🕊🌳🌳🌳🌳 Mike

Baitcaster Hi Chris, glad you enjoyed pt1 mate...Mate I have a knack of overdoing it and end up overheating Lol! Its a nice woodland thanks, have to be super stealthy there especially on an overnighter.The farm house isn't far away from camp. Glad I can help mate, tbh you know what you're doing as I loved that tarp set up you do👍 Thank you mate for watching your comments mean loads Oh yeah I noticed you've uploaded, I'm looking forward to watching as I know it'll be awesome as always Atvb Mike

Top set up mate, I really like the look of the hooped bivi. Your sleep system looked very warm. It's a very nice spot that in a nice woodland, like a natural shelter, you can never go wrong with noodles mate perfect camping Scran. atb Gaz
@BlackCountryWoodsman7 жыл бұрын
Gaziano Outdoors Hey thanks Gaz, yeah I over compensate and often get a bit too warm...I guess it's better to be hot than hypothermic lol. Cheers yes it's nice there but you always have to be alert, I like that though. Hey I'd much rather have those culinary delights that you cook up than 8 minute noodles any day Thank you for watching Mike

Black Country Woodsman I do love noodles when I camp simple but tasty and full of energy. hoping to do an overnighter soon, hopefully this month. Same forest but different place. Looks a cracking sleeping bag that you got. atb mate

I have a Dutch bivi. The Dutchy I refer to it as. I love it. I’ve tried an actual small tent but do prefer the bivi with a tarp. You just have to mind the zips on it. As they tend to go. Great video
@BlackCountryWoodsman6 жыл бұрын
Hi Andy, ah cool to hear you have one too👍🏻.....Yeah the zips are a known weakness of the hooped bivi. I no longer use the hoops on my bivi as I feel they restricted my ability to shuffle around within the bivi bag. Another reason I stopped using the hoops was to reduce the stress on the zippers👍🏻 Thank you very much for the kind words my friend. All the very best 🌳🌳🌳⛺🌳🌳🌳 Mike

Well done for getting overnight. It's often hard to get away for a time. I sometimes use a Snugpak hooped Bivvy. Wish everything had a centre zip, my bivvy bags and tents always end up with zips on the opposite side to the sleeping bags!
@BlackCountryWoodsman7 жыл бұрын
Fuchsia Shock Hi mate, snugpak make some awesome gear...Lol I know what you mean about zips on the opposite sides mate...That usually catches me out too lol... Thank you for watching and commenting Atvb Mike

Hi Rob, I use a DD large size jura 2 sleeping bag for late spring/winter, have been down to minus eleven and warm. But then I'm a hot sleeper and constantly struggle in hot weather. Definitely recommend the large size even if you're slim built, far better to have that extra room for movement. Hope I've been of some help Atvb Mike

its a shame we have to worry about getting thrown of the land in this country 99% of us would look after the area and respect the land,give us a chance land owners please...
@BlackCountryWoodsman6 жыл бұрын
Hi Toni, yeah mate its a real sad fact that the minority ruin it for the majority of us wild campers. Such a shame that all the land is owned by someone and fenced off with warning signs of prosecution. I have adjusted to the fact that I'll be trespassing and there shall always be chance of being caught, I in all honesty get a buzz out of stealth camping. I always leave the camp location as I found it same as many of us do... The leave no trace saying is of utmost importance and I shall always make a point of showing where I've camped after I've packed away. I believe it's good practise for anyone that uploads vids(or anyone wild camping in general) on here to show they clean up after themselves and respect good old mother nature. Thank you very much for watching and your comment my friend. 👍🏻😊👍🏻 All the very best Mike

Where's the best places to buy your kit mate....Tarps...utensils....knives etc....Clothing....you said you buy Military....cheers...thanks for your vids..
@BlackCountryWoodsman5 жыл бұрын
Hi mate, well ive gathered my military gear over the years from numerous places. I can recommend www.militarymart.co.uk www.surplusandoutdoors.com These are just two places ive bought kit from in the past. I originally started out with very cheap gear and just did day camps, those cheap camo tarps made in china are particularly good for the money. I had one last me four years and did many a happy overnighter underneath it. Thank you for watching Stewart, its lovely to chat with you mate👍🏻 All the very best Mike

Hi Martina, hey now that's a great idea! The Dutch army hooped bivi with a full length bug net ..Awesome !👍🏻🏕👍🏻 I've been meaning to use my hooped frontline XL as a bivi on the ground but have yet to do so. I guess that's sort of similar but of course I'd still have to combine a tarp in case of rainfall. Love your idea 👍🏻✌😊🌳🌳🌳 Atvb Mike
