Thank you for the reminder..I grew up with Dutch door in the kitchen..grandma would sit pies etc on top of the bottom door to cool...it had a detachable shelf. LOL..SORRY off topic but you just popped a memory in this 71 yr old brain. Now I HAVE to make this pocket. Thank you

I have been doing doors, windows, and other architectural structures to Open Up on whatever I deem fun. I love this one and will add Dutch Doors to my own repertoire. Thanks for the idea Anne.

I started watching this video the other day but got called away so I just finished it now. I have not seen this Dutch door style of page before and it's delightful! The stenciled fern and the bird fussy-cuts finished it off beautifully! I like how you tucked tags inside the hinged doors and the beautiful fall scene hidden behind them. Another page for my list! I don't always get time to craft so I keep a list going. Wishing you a blessed day.

Loved watching the process. I admit I might have left it as-is, but then the addition of the fern, birds and tags really finished it off nicely! Thanks for the lesson! 🙂

Love this! The house that I grew up in, in Northern California had a Dutch door. The upper section had 9 panes of glass in it so you could see outside. My folks had the house built in the mid 1950s. They had relocated from New England....oh, and I have a Tim Holtz paper Cutter that cuts a deckled edge. Its fun to use! Thanks so much for this video.

Love this. I want to try this in a Christmas journal with a Christmas scene inside. Thanks for the inspiration ❤️
@annekenlon11 ай бұрын
Carolyn, this idea would be SUPER with a Christmas scene - and your door could either be "looking out" on a snowy landscape or "looking in" at a warm room with a tree. So many possibilities. Have fun with it!

Oh, thank you so much, Jennifer. It's a "fiddly" process, as you could see, but not complicated at all - just a lot of steps. But I do think it's intriguing to open those little flaps! Thank you so much for watching and commenting.

So clever! Love this! I also really liked your phrase of ‘Unifying visual’, I found that pretty brilliant! I probably would not even thought about adding something subtle to tie the doors together as being a pair or set & now I will try to remember this any chance I get to use it!! Thanks for sharing! ❤

I'm not a fan of owls but he looks good there!!
@annekenlon11 ай бұрын
That's high praise, then! :-) Isn't it funny how some natural creatures strike us in different ways? I'm afraid you may not like one of my upcoming vids where I have quite a few owls on tags, but I hope you'll stick with me! (or you can just skip the one titled "off-kilter tags.") Thanks for watching!
@tracker584911 ай бұрын
@annekenlon I will watch..just subscribed. Afraid it's real owls I don't care for. Long ago one took my puppy that was by my feet ..we never found him....and a couple years ago one tried to take my old chihuahua from my arms..in broad day light..while we were camping...it scratched my face grabbing at her...my son was there and he hit it..hard..it flew away. So I guess that's why I'm not a fan. I look forward to seeing what you do next. I just discovered you this morning. P. S. It didn't get her...she's safe..14 yrs old n now n on my lap
@annekenlon11 ай бұрын
Oh@@tracker5849 , how terrifying! No wonder you have a bad visceral reaction! Please know that while you may see owls on the regular here, they are only sketches, no real screechers! In the meantime, so glad to have you as a viewer - welcome aboard!
