Thank you so much from France. Basics but complete and efficient As you said to cut off your opponent aggressiveness.

Do you have any videos on basic introduction level tutorial classes for Dutch style? . Such as basic class, or basics of what you teach on the first day with new students, and what do you do with beginners? I’m having a hard time trying to gage. As in basics to intermediate

Great vid. Super clean explanation. I like to often start the whole counter with inside low kick, which is almost always available on the opponents lead leg when they step forward - and then go for the combi’s.

This was nice to watch for details on basics there , imo is more , one that I didn't know about was the long hand to left lead hook, that's great. You get to do it your own way. The rear cross lead hook messes with some people. I like the idea of stepping off most of the time but stoping and changing lines that's a great way to do it! Upper cut. I use enough arts to where creativity is never an issue those are great drills and I love drills. Liked and everything. I really enjoy counter fighting myself. I'm not as good as maybe I sound I don't mean to be overly prideful good content.

Stuart Tomlinson i mean being totally different from most common well fighters using different combinations that fighters rarely use for example (1) jab, double cross, hook uppercut (2)cross, jab, cross, jab, double hook
@Mrgummiwurm8 жыл бұрын
Those combos aren't used because they aren't that effective
@maristoldboys54667 жыл бұрын
That combination is a recipe for disaster eg uppercut to a rearhand cross is biomechanically inefficient in the middle of an already long combination. No one trains like that because the risk/reward ratio makes it worthless. Plus this is kickboxing - where's the kicks?

Great content! Could you do one on retreating after throwing a hook? It is a little harder in muay thai/mma being at a closer distance and worrying about punches, elbows, knees AND kicks (and takedowns for mma but im more focused on the standup)

there's not alot of content on Dutch kick boxing great vids.any suggestions on gyms over in Amsterdam love to train over there my appreciations in advance :).
@warriorcollective8 жыл бұрын
Thanks, I am glad you enjoyed the vids. You are right, there is not a lot of stuff on the Dutch style, hence why I thought I would do some myself! You will be spoilt for choice if you are going over to Amsterdam. Within easy distance of pretty much anywhere in the centre are Vos Gym and Mejiro Gym. Mike's gym is just on the outskirts going North and is a short bus ride away. Any of these three would be my recommendations in Amsterdam at present. There are other good ones but I know these personally having been to each of them so speak from experience!! Let me know if you need any other help!!
@lewisandrew52658 жыл бұрын
Stuart Tomlinson thanks for the reply one last thing just Chinese whispers but heard the Dutch can be a bit funny teaching foreigners their techniques from your experience is there anything to this much appreciated and looking forward to your future videos ;).
@eddyrocket87376 жыл бұрын
lewis Andrew being Dutch and training in Amsterdam gym, I have never noticed a different approach to foreign trainees. There are many expats that train in Dutch gyms and get the exact same attention. There is a lot of 2-way respect regardless of background. Many gyms to choose from and would personally recommend trying at least 2 or 3 for comparison. It’s important to find the one that fits your preference and style if you want to progress fast :)
