Some hearts break and never mend. Dutch Louie recorded this demo of “Leland Loftis” for Warner Bros. Records in 1971. The song was co-written by the band’s bassist, Dale Bobbitt, with James Brady of The Sandpipers, who released their own version on A&M Records, produced by Bones Howe and Bob Alcivar.
