Dutch Oven Popcorn!
• Dutch Oven Popcorn
You’ve seen me use my Dutch ovens a lot for desserts, biscuits, casseroles and more. But this Dutch oven popcorn is a fun and easy recipe that is great for camping, boy scouts or just in your back yard. Add a little butter and give our Mesquite seasoning a try and all you need is a recliner.
Enjoy!

I rescued a real Wok and dome lid from a Goodwill. Round bottom, not flat. Awesome corn popper. That dome and the round bottom = no shaking needed.

I remember my mom doing popcorn in a dutch oven. The only frying pans she used were cast. If I messed up the seasoning on those pans, I got the stare only moms are capable of. God bless and I sure love your channel.

I popped popcorn for a bunch of Cub Scouts one time many years ago. Had one young man come to me wanting to know what I was doing. I said "I'm making popcorn!" He said "Popcorn comes out of the microwave!" I told him to stand right there and watch! Just so happened that I was doing it on a camp stove with a kettle with a glass lid. You can't believe how much entertainment you can give to a dozen Cub Scouts with a popcorn kettle with a glass lid! Kept them entertained all evening watching the popcorn pop! Thanks for memory Kent!

The natural fats are better for you anyway. That man made crap is the whole reason for high cholesterol, not bacon fat. In fact i fry a whole package of bacon just to have the fat to use in cooking.

When I was a kid on the farm we used make popcorn in mama's old pressure cooker on the stove top. It always turned out good too. Just make sure you don't let the lid turn to the locked position like my brother did one time. We wound up with popcorn all over the kitchen. We got a laugh out of it till mama came back in from milking the cow. She didn't think it was funny at all. We sat down gently for a while. Lesson learned popcorn making in a pressurer cooker works good just don't blow it up. Tony Mac

We tried once making this in a lightweight aluminum pot, had a bit too much popcorn and too light a lid, and the lid kept getting knocked off, so we sat around the campfire trying to catch the kernels as they flew out of the pot.

Awright!!! Hey Kent, thanks for sharing another fantastic video. We eat a lot of popcorn around here and, truth be told, I've never tried using one of my Dutch Ovens before. Gonna have to give it a try though. Mama used to always use her cast iron chicken fryer. It had a domed lid and the popcorn, to the best of my memory, always came out fully popped and fluffy. I don't remember very many unpopped kernels either. But then Mom always was a very good cook. Thanks for another awesome production. The best to you and yours Kent. Hoping you and all your subscribers have a wonderful and Blessed Thanksgiving. Stan

You can use ghee instead of vegetable oil. Much healthier and it also gives that movie theater popcorn taste naturally. Movie theaters basically use chemical flavorings to try to get the taste of ghee.

Give them kernels a swirl after dumping them into the pot so the oil gets all over all of the kernels to ensure as many kernels get popped as possible. Surely, Cowboy Kent’s teeth don’t enjoy gnawing on uncooked kernels lol.

Texasdj 201 The yellow popcorn you see in stores is tough and chewy they use it for people who buy their corn already popped, or micro-waved poison. After popping it won't break apart during shipping and handling is the reason. This Iowa boy likes the smaller white popcorn varieties as it tastes sweeter and less hulls to get stuck in yer teeth.
