Everyone is riding a bike, and then there are 2 guys in yellow submarines going "fuck this".

@HumanRightsVideosT iirc There is a Nazca rider living in New Zealand. There's is left draft, but we also need less. We cetainly gain advantage by riding as a group. The UCI also involves a lot of rules regarding design and organization. We don't like that at all ;-) A lot of 'bents have suspension at the back. Handling can be very easy, but much depends on the geometry of the bike. Some 'bent builders haven't found out yet how to build a bike that handles proper.

Many of the recumbent riders have a swaying motion, side to side while pedaling, while on a standard road bike I see riders hold a straighter line. Is that swaying typical for recumbents?
@nhanlm06019 жыл бұрын
Daniel Payne it's more of the design of handle bar that affects the stability of the bike. The smaller the harder; the further away from the steering axis the easier

@HumanRightsVideosT The brand Nazca is named after the people in Peru who made gigantic signs. Google: nazca hummingbird. The founders of Nazca Ligfietsen (Nazca Recumbents) have travelled through South America.

Great video, thanks for sharing. There was a mid racer in the mix that looked more stable than the low racers, why are they so twitchy?

Interesting video. I ride a 'bent in NY, but much taller (and slower, and heavier). Can any of these riders safely ride the streets in the Netherlands in bicycles that sit so low? Those would be invisible to drivers here.

these tracks look really slippy. varnished wood doesnt seem that good a surface for fast bends
@johnbarron42653 жыл бұрын
But it's incredibly hard and smooth, allowing for low rolling resistance and faster speeds. Also the bends are banked, so very little grip is required at the speeds these guys are racing at.

3:52 That chain is flopping all over the place.
@alexdelara98584 жыл бұрын
the problem is that the transmission of the energy from the pedals, to the gears on the rear, needs a really long chain and the only way to prevent flopping is to guide the chains through nylon tubes the best one can.... Cruzbike came with something shorter by moving the gears to the front wheel... but still looks an oddball...

Do you know how much watt is needed to keep 30kph in your bike?
@station301224 жыл бұрын
I don't have an m5 I use a bachetta corsa, 24mph isn't hard to maintain on flats, i usually average 16-20mph while commuting. They're extremely easy to use and efficient

Noisy little thing... Sounds like lost energy to me...
@monsieurboks5 жыл бұрын
No. There's almost no energy in even the loudest of sounds, like a plane taking off, or an F1 engine. A relatively quiet sound like this bike will have less than 0.001 Watts. Nothing worth stressing about.
