Wow what an amazing transformation. I love it. Bacopa can act so strangely... I swear by creeping Jenny although I do have some crazy growth on some of my bacopa that I let grow crazy at the top of the water... But that wouldn't look very nice in a formal scape like yours Great job

@@TarasTankFriends It's also one of the few plants that I manage to kill every time I attempt to get it. I think it all goes back to our hardwater conversation from a while back though. At some stage I'll try it again with RO water and a lower mineral dose.
@TarasTankFriends
@TarasTankFriends 5 ай бұрын
@@IndoorEcosystem I'm on a well, so I have super hard alkaline water. I do dose trace minerals once a week, so maybe there's something in that that it needs?
@IndoorEcosystem

@@TarasTankFriends Quite a good chance! I have a bottle of trace now though I haven't used it yet!
@TarasTankFriends
@TarasTankFriends 5 ай бұрын
@@IndoorEcosystem I swear by the stuff, that and I add 3ml potassium/week to most of my tanks besides the occasional root tab. I almost never use anything else, and I've been doing it this way for a few years. If the pearl weed is new, I give it a root tab to give it a good start, but after that it's just the trace and potassium for liquid ferts. I think it may also depend on why your water is hard. From the tap, I have 8.2 pH, 300kh, a ton of iron and 1-2ppm phosphate. This tank is about 7.5ph-7.8ph because of the co2 injection, but I've grown it in 8.2, no CO2 and lower light without issue as well. So if the trace and potassium doesn't work for you, it could be one of those nutrients. But I really wish you super good luck with it if you try pearl weed again! 🤞🤞🙂

Interesting experiment, Tara. I wish I could grow stem plants. We were talking about that with Keith from @AquaticsFanaticsUK on Jeff's livestream the other day. I'm still not certain, but i'm leaning more towards lighting. Either not enough or not the right color spectrums. A work in progress. 🙂Have a fantastic weekend! ~Ron

@@garageaquatics2023 have you tried pogostemon stellatus octopus? I have really good luck with that one in my low light tanks, though both of those with that plant have dimmer full spec lights on them. @@TarasTankFriends I have not tried the Pogostemon. Not sure I've seen that one. I'll take a look. I'm going to set up andther 40 breeder and I've got one of the Hygge lights. I'll give that a shot and see if it's any better than the Nicrew I'm using. And as always, Tara, it's my pleasure. Enjoy your weekend as well!
