Nice walk Murat, The summer in Amsterdam is almost as cold as the winter here in New Zealand, at least the walking keeps you warm

In general, including the winters, as for the Amsterdam weather, it is indeed not the temperature, but the lack of light. But we used to have pretty sunny Julys. Never remember such a rainy and dark July. So far.

As I know the Stopera is called Stopera because the building isn't just the home to the National Opera and the National Ballet but it also houses the Amsterdam City Hall. City Hall in Dutch = 'Stadhuis'. So the 'St-' from 'Stadhuis' together with 'Opera' becomes 'Stopera'....
