Saw them play Blackpool Central pier in the 80s. Fabulous band - me and my dad had a load of their vinyl.

Top-notch rendition of one of my favorites! I found a lot to try to emulate in each of the solos, as well as the overall arrangement. What's the background of the group's name. Did they start when they were in college together?

The band was formed in Netherlands in 1945 by a group of young people who had to practice in secret since jazz music was banned by the Nazi's. This is the same band, with new members being added as the years go on. Pretty cool, huh?

I don't think this arrangement calls for a drum solo, just the brass instruments get one in this song.
