Even though Arthur’s character wasn’t even thought of yet when RDR1 was made, I like to think that this last speech from Dutch shows he was thinking of Arthur in his final moments, as he gave the same speech when Arthur and Dutch jumped of that cliff together to escape in RDR2. Red Dead Redemption 1 and 2 are true masterpieces.

That was the only time Dutch was real, in the whole series. When he says “this is a good one” he acknowledges that he never had a good plan. He is the least deep main character in all of red dead. He was always just a talker, nothing he said or did ever meant anything.
