Great video deputy! I am a 25 year veteran of my police department out here in Wisconsin. Our chief is old fashioned. We were the sweat butt logs. Sam brown 94 or buckle belt. Mine is basket weave. All pouches are basket weave to. We carry Sig Sauer P 320 45 ACP. Cool show! You mean SWAT BELT! WE USE SAFE LIFE DEFENCE BELTS WITH THE COBRA BUCKLE AND HIGH SPEED GEAR TACO POUCHES.

@PerformanceFirearmsChannel 2 жыл бұрын
You can say whatever you want I don’t see any competition shooters carrying their magazines that way. Because it’s not efficient. There’s a right way of doing things and the wrong way. You have been doing it wrong for more than a decade simple fact. Look at any serious operator to see if they carry their mags that way. The answer is no they don’t.
@TexasFirefighter87
@TexasFirefighter87 2 жыл бұрын
@@PerformanceFirearmsChannel lol you must be fairly new to Law Enforcement, you have a lot to learn and the mentality of there is only one way to do something will get you or others hurt or killed. Furthermore I couldn't care less what competition shooters do, I carry how I carry because that works for me and apparently thousands of others as well. I have trained repetitively and built the necessary muscle memory. I'm certain if horizontal carry wasn't a thing, gear manufacturers wouldn't make mag pouches with both vertical and horizontal belt slots. Using competition shooters as a reference is also a moot point because you and I both know a competition shooter would out shoot us both regardless of how our mags are oriented. Stay safe and don't become complacent with narrow mindedness.

What I stated is not an opinion it’s a fact about efficiency. You can use whatever you want to justify what you do. I’ve spoken to Many swat operators and firearms instructors about this. The truth The most people wear horizontal because it interferes with their gut when they sit down in car. Maybe you’ve been too long in law-enforcement and I have become Complacent in the way you do things and not wanting to learn new ways. Let’s be honest I’ve been to many training courses and I have been a competitive shooter for over 10 years and have spent the last five years and law enforcement I have yet to run across a serious instructor or serious operator that wears the magazines that way. The only people I’ve run into are people from road patrol. And in every class I’ve been to they always are the slowest when it comes to efficiency in reloading and drawing Their firearms. Excuse the grammar I’m using voice text while I’m driving to work. Glad you can state your opinion but again no one agrees with it just look at the comments. On a Side-note it’s funny how are you law-enforcement old timers are all the same always attacking years of service. I guarantee I’ve done more with my five years and you’ve done in your decades. Appreciate you comments and watching the video just gets me Payed

@@PerformanceFirearmsChannel Hey, honestly I watched the entire video and I honestly understand you have a strong opinion on the mag pouches. I really enjoyed the video and feel like you did a pretty goo job stating your experience along with some cool information. I came into the comments and run across J Fel87's comment and the way you handled that situation was not smart on your part. If I come across a new KZbinr usually i check out the comments to see what type of person they are and you just put a sour taste in my mouth man. This is simple and respectable criticism, realistically you only have about 2.5k subs (which is more than me obviously) but if you want that number the climb you cant be calling out your "fans" and viewers the way you just did. Maybe I'll come around in the future and your hospitality has changed. Good day.

@@KukoKills comments like his are not productive in my mind opinion. He stated no facts besides his decades of unproven experience to counter my argument. Comment with facts to have a conversation. Then he states my way of thinking will get people killed because there are more than one way of doing things. To that I say B/S only one way to hold a pistol correct which everyone agrees. So in a lot of situations there’s only one right way. Now has for your comment thank you for taking the time to watch and commenting. Just so you know Let study why guntuber grow. How if any would this change if you knew you were going to be in a rural setting (population around 2500 for example) with few units on the road? Thoughts of a outer vest and drop holster with few items on a duty belt?
@PerformanceFirearmsChannel
@PerformanceFirearmsChannel Жыл бұрын
Personally I would change very little for belt setup. I worked at a prison for many years where I was the only one in a population of over 250 inmates in my housing unit But what you carry on your belt or vest is dictated by what you use the most. My personal opinion on drop leg holsters Varies I hate the real low ones that are closer to your knees but a mid-level with one strap is not a bad thing.

So first off I just want to say that this is a great video. The fact that you explain your reasoning behind item placement is very exciting for me. Far to often people just go with what they see online and it leads to tons of mistakes that could be fatal. Everyone should be thinking about what they need and why before they just follow whatever they see online. At the end of the day its good to build off others experiences but at the least you should understand why something works or why you should be doing it. That being said I did have a couple of questions/comments about your kit. Why do you not have a weapon mounted light on your first belt setup? I assume its because of what your department would issue since your second and third kit both have weapon mounted lights. But just to point out to anyone who may be looking for extra info. A weapon mounted light would be highly recommend. You will get more accurate shots with both hands on the gun as opposed to one on the gun and one on the light. At the same time I still recommend keeping the flashlight on you belt because you will have far more times you need it without wanting to draw your gun. Another thing I was curious about was that I noticed you didn't have a tourniquet on the second belt. I know you mentioned it was more of an office/station carry setup and a range set up but in my opinion any time you carry a gun you should have some sort of first aid on your person. A tourniquet being the bare minimum of what you should carry and at most I usually carry a full IFAK (individual first aid kit) in my cargo pocket.
@PerformanceFirearmsChannel
@PerformanceFirearmsChannel Жыл бұрын
OK to answer your first question about my duty weapon not having a weapon mounted light. My department do not issue us lights. But they do approve us using a streamlight TLR1HL. I was in the process of looking for a Holster that is very difficult because I’m left-handed. So it had to be left-handed basket weave, and for a Glock 21. Not easy to fine. Took me few months to get. I do have a weapon light now. For your second question, the reason my tourniquet is on my belt and not, for example mounted in front of my holster is because sometimes I work at the jail and I have to remove my holster and magazines. If my TQ was mounted on my holster. I wouldn’t have one when I’m inside..

Hey man, just a heads up, sometimes a gun safe and/or sidearm is sufficient enough for home defense. Gun belts tends to fall down if not used in sequence with belt keepers, so it would be really hard to put on and awkward to keep up in a hurry.
@PerformanceFirearmsChannel

I would do a battle belt for that just cuz it’s faster to put on. But honestly I don’t think you will have the time to put it on if someone is breaking in. A ar15 w/ surefire 60 round mag would it.

Well we'll start with most standard protocol is badge in front of FIREARM. THEN your comment about mag being sideways bad idea or as you put it stupid is actually the better way. Sideways doesn't stick I. Your side and in a kneeling or prone position is easier and more ergonomic. Research it also never draw a firearm loaded or unloaded in a unsafe direction firearm safety.

@@PerformanceFirearmsChannel Ok I guess it was the way you explained it I may have misunderstood what you were saying. If you wear the mag pouch horizontal they should be drawn out from the side not the belt buckle ammo pointing downward on the weak side making it ergonomically easier to withdraw and index the magazine properly. It would also be easier in the event that they need to be drawn while in a kneeling or prone position. Well lucky man to have a range at your house with a cement pad. You are correct if this is the case. I can admit when I maybe wrong. Thank you. I also make suggestions on equipment placement as not everyone is built the same or has the same dexterity where if mandated by a policy you maybe putting an officer at risk who maybe unable to access his equipment properly or in a timely fashion. Whatever they do they should make sure the equipment is in good working order and accessible.

If you would use your head, you would know that belt set up is very important to how you perform your job. Being comfortable and having efficiency in reaching the tools I need to complete my job is essential. Also department issued gear is usually the cheapest and lowest quality they can afford. All of my issued gear Broke within six months. So I will spend whatever money I want on gear that can potentially save my life. So maybe you should focus more on being a moral hire for your department, then leaving comments like a troll on someone’s KZbin.

Gotta say, there's been a handful of times as private security we've had to restrain people during fights to prevent serious damage/disfunction in the facility. Unlike AUS/3Dots and other generic security companies, inhouse security who is expected to step up and DEAL with issues to literally prevent death and serious injury to patients and staff we *MUST* have gear on our persons to combat, aprehend and otherwise stop a situation be it verbal commands or having to use deadly force on a active shooter. All that said, I carry 1 pair right now and waiting to order 1 more. 2 pairs per guard, 12 guards on rotation, thats more than enough to break up and restrain a family of 8 fighting in the ER who are literally throwing punches. Buy *GOOD* and *RELIABLE* Gear which costs money. I have a plain old, 60$ belt, I got when I first started. The belt is fine and will be replacing it soon just for the looks. It's worked wonders. I buy Safariland lvl3 holsters for carry or lvl2 ( no hood, ALS switch ) for EP details. Costs more than my belt. It won't fail tho if maintained and serviced in a timely manner, just like the glock. Being smart and using your brain is always good... but brains does NOT equal ability. Just because you KNOW how to use a needle to hammer in a nail, by some convoluted half-assed white-trash rigged system doesn't make you effecient or smart it makes you clever... but you could have done the whole job with a fucking hammer. If you do roofing for a living, you get a GOOD hammer and not the cheapest around. GEAR is equally important as KNOWLEDGE. Without both, you can't do the job. No cuffs? Can't effect a arrest safely. No knowledge how to use cuffs? Can't effect a arrest safeky. Same end result. Not a pissing contest. Jobs gotta get done. Same reason I don't buy some shit-mobile from china from a unknown company, and why I go to a reputable dealer down the road who I can literally buy from. Why spend money on trash or half-baked ideas when you can invest in gear that works and has been tested by LEOS, private security, military, and indepdent civilians?
