deepsea444 - Yep. Spot on. It's as if the organisers have been told to produce an aircraft show specifically for people who have no interest in aircraft. Someone should tell them that enthusiasts come to such events to see, hear, feel and smell the planes... (It's much the same at some car rallies: the atmosphere's ruined by a heavy metal soundtrack of screaming electric guitars.) There's no need to apologise for the nasty noisy warplanes spoiling Great Aunty Ada's picnic because Great Aunty pigging Ada probably worked as a delivery pilot during the war, shifting patched-up Hurricanes and Swordfish round the country. Sigh. It's no use complaining, though. The organisers would never hear us over the blasted 'mood music' which reduces a thrilling occasion to the level of some ghastly stage-managed Disney production made for the kind of cud-chewing 'erberts that rely on canned-laughter to tell them what's funny, and need to be told how to feel, what to think and when to think it. On cue. Yuk.

You guys have such a tradition on aviation (and RC) that's not even funny! I went to Duxford once, even though part of the museum was closed (the American wing, as I remember) it was incredible! I saw just one warbird flying and felt as if I were 10 years old again. If I were there during this show I would have flipped out, hehe. Wonderful video!!!!

It was a great Balbo in 2018! Always worth the 800 km round trip. The music sounds worser on the video than it was on my place. Luckily no mumbling French speakers last year.... (that's my opinion...)

yes chad awesome sound, my dear old dad went to school at Hornchurch during the battle of Britain and squadrons of twelve spitfires each time would take off directly over his class room and the old crittal windows would rattle and the engine noise drowned out the teacher - lol - happy days even in war time (he was only 8)

I don't know what to say, Pete. Quite spectacular to say the least. When I see so many of these magnificent aircraft in one place it makes me think about the dedication of so many people when these machines were tools rather than artifacts. Most people can understand the effort on the ground to keep these beauties in proper flying shape. Seldom do folks consider the manpower involved with an operational airbase, particularly in WW2. I have only adoration and respect for the fine men and women that dedicated themselves to the war effort and protecting our freedom. Cheers to the Greatest Generation! Hurrah!

I was there this year for the first time in my life. Amazing amazing show, almost incredible, a must for every aviation enthusiast if you can afford to go. To hear a Corsair rumbling 5meters from you gets under the skin, or a B17 so close you can almost touch it. The Spitfires, Buchons, P40, the Sea Fury (what a beast!) etc etc etc... Also, the static expo is fantastic: SR71, Concorde, B52, Lancaster, Vulcan and many many more... And an outstanding organization to top it off!

You'd have to line up all the Racers from all three classes of Unlimited's to match this display. Of course the laps are much more "spirited" at Reno. The groups have also dwindled over the years, "Rare Bear" looks more like a cheap street walker than a racer when Lyle Shelton owner her. Dago Red sits in a hanger losing parts. Tsunami is gone, Super Corsair is gone,and of course Robert "BOB" Hoover is no longer with us. Obviously after the crash of "Galloping Ghost" it put quite a damper on the "Unlimited" class. I do like seeing Warbirds in their proper colors{especially a P-47} and in good formation. Just what you caught! Thanks again!
