You can tell these folks are grounded and how small their egos are by the way each of them looks into the camera (or the lack thereof), by how comfortable they are with themselves, with life, within their version of reality. Truly they are Happy People.

Man if you want to be a beast of a man, learn how to survive in the Russian Taiga. These guys work hard to provide for their families enduring all sorts of hardships. Yet they keep their positive spirits and are very welcoming to anyone who comes to visit. Amazing people.

Thanks for the upload! It's beautiful and relaxing for me to watch those people doing their meaningful work. All they do makes sense, you hunt or fish to have food, you make firewood and build houses to survive. I often wonder what I am doing in my office. People in modern society look for a meaning in their lifes and barely can find. It's not that everything is great about their lifes, there is alcohol and seems to lack emotional warmth, but I think, at least they do meaningful things with their own hands.

These enduring and determined Russians who are living mostly off the land work very hard and enjoy few of life's luxuries that most people in the developed countries of the West do. They do not have cell phones or televisions or Grocery Stores to fill their cupboards, in other words they live in another world. Hot and cold running water is probably not available. They are living like the pioneer Americans did in the 1800s. The biting insects alone would be enough to drive most people nuts, I wish them the best and appreciate this very informative Documentary.

these guys use hatchets to drive headless, 6-7in. long handmade nails thru rough-cut timber...building heavy-duty log cabins, dressed head to toe in the hot sun, while being swarmed by mosquitos, and biting flies.. "fucking HARDCORE" doesn't quite do.
