Dont ditch the exhaust, just valve it.. Thats what I did on my Dc5.. I have a hood exit and a full exhaust.. Best of both worlds. I can switch between them with 1 button whenever I want..

Hey Devin, I’m not an expert nor am I as mechanically inclined as you, but the reason why it sounds like a built Subaru is because of the tubular (probably slightly unequal length) manifold going to your turbo. That’s why it sounds so good.

Dev if you stick with the hood exit exhaust, just cut the hole in stock hood and keep the Seibon carbon one as back up 🎉

I understand that you needed something quick and rewarding. But: bad idea. It sounds and looks horrible. Make a cut-out in the exhaust system as proposed elsewhere. And please do not ruin that beautiful hood by cutting it up.

i wouldnt mess up the carbon hood. i would use the stock hood for the cutout.

You should do the cut out on a stock hood first, that way you don’t decide to go back and have to order a new carbon fiber hood 😅

As mentioned a few times you should do an electric modulated exhaust door that will do rowdy mode out the hood but a flip of a switch or press of a button you have full quiet exhaust

hood exit and straight cut gears, rowdy is an appropriate term haha... i would personally do a fender exit like Bader has on the black STI. i fucked with a turbo miata hood exit for months and everywhere i put that thing the cabin would get nasty if the windows were down

Hood exits, while cool, are a horrible overall driving experience. Cabin constantly smells like exhaust, end up with fuel, soot, etc on your windshield. Also, the fireballs at night are ridiculously distracting when racing people. Other then that hey are great :D

IMO not a huge fan of hood dumps. Especially on this beautiful amazing build. It’s takes away from the straight cut unique sounds. But if you do keep it, I would def say cut the stick hood n not the CF one.

Dude your going to love it when your sucking up exhaust fumes in the cab of the car. The air for the AC is right there between the hood and windshield. Not to mention all the plastic and wiring around it. Way to fuck up a badass car
