This is one of the earliest episodes of SUSPENSE I ever listened to and one of the main reason I instantly became a fan of the show. I love listening to old radio shows form my Mother & Father's era. I use to buy cassettes of this series back in the day.

Funny that this should be at the top of this list. It deserves to be. This is probably my favorite program. After having listened to this a number of times it hasn’t lost any of its magic. There’s one part of this - and I’m sure you know to which part I refer - that still sends chills up my back. Never had anything ever do that before. Well, except for the wife when she tells me, ever so sweetly and subtly, that the supper dishes aren’t going to wash themselves and the garbage isn’t going to put itself out. Nor is the dog. And the clothes hanging on the line aren’t going to jump down off the line and march themselves into the house of their own accord, yeah, those are about the only other things that have ever given me a bad- I’m talking lethal - case of goose bumps. Thanks for this and all.

I have heard various old time radio shows over the years and this is by far the BEST. Ranks right up there with "Sorry, Wrong Number," and Orson Welles' immortal "War Of The Worlds."

One of the actors sounded a bit like Hans Conreid. Possible? SPOILER?---Not sure what the first scream-howls and blood were supposed to be coming from/not clarified, unless I missed something. Or the writer hadn't figured that out very well.
